Yorick only really plays in the Top Lane and a lot of this is due to his power in isolated 1v1 matchups. He has a lot of strength in split pushing and whittling his enemy laner down using his Mist Walkers and his Maiden - both of which we will cover later on in this League of Legends article.

Being able to force his enemies out of Lane and then using this pressure to destroy towers faster than almost any champion in the game, Yorick creates a huge amount of map pressure, just by simply pushing his lane over and over again. Here's everything you need to know to master this champion

Passive: Shepherd of Souls

Yorick innately spawns a grave for any enemy he kills with his Q, Last Rites, as well as any enemy champions or large monsters that die near him. Yorick will also spawn graves for every 12th, 6th, or 2nd enemy that dies near him which scales up based on his level.

He can have a maximum amount of four graves active at once, replacing the oldest ones first.

These graves allow Yorick to use his Q, Last Rites’s passive ability, Awakening, or his E, Mourning Mist, to spawn Mist Walkers from them.

Yorick can have four Mist Walkers active at any one time and they have up to 212 health plus 20% of Yorick’s maximum health. They do up to 88 Physical Damage, plus 25% of Yorick’s AD with each auto attack.

Q: Last Rites

Yorick slams down with his next basic attack with an additional 50 range, and dealing up to 130 physical damage plus 40% of his AD.

He is also healed for up to 68 health, plus 8% of his missing health.

Whilst Yorick has three graves nearby when he casts Q, Last Rites, he can also cast Awakening, which spawns Mist Walkers from these graves.

With his W, Dark Procession, Yorick spawns a ring of Spirits at the target locations that spawns just after half a second after casting this ability. This also works a displacement ability as it either knocks enemies aside, pull them inside, or push them away.

The ring acts as terrain as if it was on the rest of the Summoner’s Rift, and lasts for four seconds, with a maximum health of four auto attacks at max rank.

E: Mourning Mist

The active of this ability has Yorick throw a ball of black mist at target location which explodes upon impact. This deals up to 210 magic damage plus 70% of Yorick’s AP.

Any enemy champions or Monsters that are hit by this ability are slowed by 30% for two seconds and a marked as Cursed for four seconds.

Cursed enemies take 30% bonus damage from attacks by Yorick's Mist Walkers and will spawn Mist Walkers from graves nearby if the maximum of four isn't already met.

The Mist Walkers, Yorick and The Maiden all gain 20% bonus movement speed towards Cursed enemies, and the Mist Walkers themselves will leap to any Cursed enemies, dealing 100% of their AD when they land.

R: Eulogy of the Isles

When using this ability, Yorick summons The Maiden of the Mist and up to 4 Mist Walkers at the chosen location. The Maiden remains alive on the battlefield until she dies or Yorick is killed himself.

Yorick can also set her free, which has her push down the nearest lane until she is killed.

The Maiden has up to 1650 HP, plus 60% of Yorick's maximum HP, and deals 40 Magic Damage, plus 50% of Yorick’s AD with every auto attack.

Hi, my name is Eddie, I am a full-time writer and short-form video editor, with a degree in Esports! My main games are VALORANT and League of Legends, so you could say that I am at the beck and call of Riot Games! I have worked previously for a few different websites, doing various roles, such as writing, editing, and even voiceovers, but here at THESPIKE, I am an out-and-out article writer, so I can really get as much content out as I can! I graduated with my Esports degree with a 2:1, and a desire to keep going, so this was a perfect step for me, but I still can't get enough of League of Legends when I'm free.
