Everything You Need to Know About Sett in League of Legends
Sett is a lover and a fighter, and one of the best at both, but can you use him on the Rift? Well we are here to teach you, so here is Everything you need to know about Sett in League of LegendsSett is one of the most interesting champions in the Juggernaut class, and as a mix of a Fighter and a Tank, he can be a pain for a lot of teams to deal with. That being said, he can come with his difficulties playing him, so you might want to learn how to before you take him into your League of Legends ranked games.
Everything you will need to learn is in this article, from his abilities, to a bit of his lore and general trivia to get you invested in the character, as we feel that the more you like a champion, the more you are willing to put into learning them.
Sett’s abilities in League of Legends
Passive: Pit Grit
Sett regenerates health at an increased rate based on his missing health, so hopefully those ranged matchups in the top lane aren’t too much of a pain with this.
His basic attacks are two punches thrown with his left and right hands, in that order. His right hand punch gains 50 attack range, and is a lot faster than the punch of his left hand, dealing more damage as well.
This means that your trading combo requires you to auto with both hands to make full use of this passive.
Q: Knuckle Down
Sett makes his next two basic attacks, so his next left and right hand punch, empowered, gaining yet another 50 attack range, and dealing even more physical damage, which can also be used against monsters (up to a cap of 400). This means that Sett Jungle can be somewhat viable!
Sett also gains movement speed of 30% whilst staring down an enemy champion, but it also resets his basic attacks, meaning on Sett you can auto Q auto for an even faster combo.
W: Haymaker
The Passive on Haymaker means Sett stores 100% of his post-mitigation damage as Grit, which he has on his resource bar instead of mana, and this can stack up to 50% of his maximum health.
This will start decaying over 4 seconds of not being used or added to with additional Grit.
The active of Haymaker has Sett gain a shield which is equal to the amount of Grit he has stored up, and he charges up an AOE strike in front of him for just under a second.
This damages enemies in a cone in front of him, dealing true damage to enemies standing directly in a line in front of him. The way to use Haymaker is the more Grit you have, the bigger shield you will get and the more damage you will do.
E: Facebreaker
Sett grabs enemies both from his left and right together, slowing them for half a second by 70%. The best part about Sett’s Facebreaker is that if he grabs at least one enemy either side of him, they are all stunned for 1 second.
Use this in conjunction with your Haymaker to almost guarantee hitting the true damage strip in the middle of the cone.
R: The Show Stopper
As a man of flair, Sett pulls out a special move for his ultimate ability, suppressing a target and dashing a short distance towards them. He then leaps forward, dragging them with him, slamming them into the ground upon landing.
This does AOE damage to anyone hit when Sett and the suppressed enemy lands, dealing less damage the further away they are from the point of impact. Regardless of how close enemies were to the landing spot, anyone close enough to take damage is slowed by 99% for 1 second.
This is great for slamming an enemy tank into the middle of the enemy back line, so Sett can get onto carries in a completely different way to a lot of other champions.
When was Sett released in League of Legends?
Sett was the first champion of Season 10, released in Patch 10.1, which came out on January 8, 2020.
Since then he has been a staple pick in the Top Lane, but he has also seen short spells in the Jungle and even down the other side of the map in a Support role too!
Where is Sett from in League of Legends?
The Boss is from Navori in Ionia, where he still resides, although he is a Vastayan by nature, he headsup the criminal underworld of Ionia. A true rags-to-riches story is set around the Half-Beast in Ionia, growing up as a challenger in the fighting rings of the underground fighting scene, Sett now runs the pits he used to fight in.
Sett’s Age in League of Legends
Sett was born between 966 AN and 971 AN, meaning he was alive during the Ionian war with Noxus. This would place him approximately between 26 and 31 years of age, just old enough to really get control of the criminal underworld growing in Ionia.
Sett’s Voice Actor in League of Legends
Sett is voiced by Xander Mobius, which is one of the coolest names ever might we add! He also is actually the Super Smash Bros announcer in those games, so it is fitting he is the voice actor of the underground fighting lord in League of Legends!
Sett is a great champion, but Ionia and the rest of Runeterra has a lot of other champions in it that you should probably check out too, and where better to do that than right here!
