Rell is another awesome champion that hates Noxus, and with one of the coolest lore stories we have gotten in recent years, it is fair to say that Rell is certainly an interesting character in the League of Legends lore.

Her abilities, especially after a mini-rework, certainly do stand up to the noble horsewoman inspiration, with a twist. Whilst she is a great champion to pick up, her kit can be a little overwhelming, so we have got for you everything you need, from her lore to her abilities.

Rell’s abilities in League of Legends

Passive: Break the Mold

Rell Passive

Rell’s passive allows any damage she deals to non-minions to reduce their resistances by 2% for 5s, which can stack up to 5 times. This means she is essentially a built in MR and armor shredder for her ADC and the rest of her team.

She also gainst bonus resistances based on the amount she reduces from targets, so she can become a true tank if she dives right in.

Q: Shattering Strike

Rell thrusts forward with her lance, and destroys shields when it hits them. It also stuns any target hit for 0.75s.

Rell Jungle is somewhat viable, and when she was reworked, Riot Games added in a few features to make this possible. One of these was that her Q, Shattering Strike, does bonus damage to monsters, up to 470 at max rank.

This means that Rell can destroy jungle camps with a Q max build!

W: Ferromancy: Crash Down

Rell W (Crash Down)
Rell W (Crash Down)

When using this ability, Rell dismounts from her horse, diving at a location of her choosing. She also gains a shield and knocks up enemies. This is her engaging ability, as she can dive on enemies, as well as keep the momentum going by sliding through them automatically.

The shield is up to 110 at max rank with an additional 12% of her maximum health added on top of that as the shield.

This, once again, does bonus damage to monsters, meaning it is not just Rell’s Q that does all the jungle damage. This way Rell can stun camps such as Raptors and Wolves without taking too much damage from the smaller monsters.

W: Ferromancy: Mount Up

Rell W (Mount Up)
Rell W (Mount Up)

This is the second part of Rell’s W, which allows her to remount, but before you do, keep in mind that whilst dismounted, Rell gains a bunch of extra stats. These are:

  • 12% bonus armor
  • 12% bonus magic resist
  • 30% bonus attack speed
  • 75 bonus attack range
  • 10% reduced movement speed

Using the active of Rell’s Ferromancy: Mount Up, allows her to leap at a target location with increased movement speed, attack speed and auto attack range. When she lands, and if she lands on a target, she will stun the area for 1 second and throw enemies atop herself.

Once again, this ability does bonus damage to monsters, so keep that Jungle Rell dream alive!

E: Full Tilt

Rell E
Rell E

We know a few of you have gone full tilt on other champions but on Rell, it is her E ability. Rell and her targeted ally gain movement speed and allows her next auto attack or Q ability to explode with bonus magic damage.

You do not actually need to target an ally, however, as using Rell’s E will automatically target the nearest ally.

The Iron Maiden’s E also does bonus magic damage to monsters, but it is capped at 150 magic damage.

R: Magnet Storm

Rell Ultimate Ability
Rell Ultimate Ability

If Orianna ult and Nilah ult had a baby, it would be Rell’s ultimate ability, Magnet Storm. Rell pulls nearby enemies towards her, and subsequently creates an AOE magnet storm around her, dragging nearby enemies in for 2s.

This is great with either of her W abilities, as she can jump in, stun enemies, and drag them all in for your team to wombo combo nicely.

When was Rell released in League of Legends?

Battle Queen Rell
Battle Queen Rell

Rell hit the rift on December 9, 2020, which was Patch 10.25, just in the middle of pre-season for Season 11 of League of Legends.

Whilst it doesn’t feel like Rell has been out for nearly three years, her and her debut skin of Battle Queen Rell are becoming experienced champions on the Rift!

Where is Rell from in League of Legends?

Noxus: Rell's Homeland
Noxus: Rell's Homeland

Rell originates from Noxus, although she despises Noxus for experimenting on her as a child. This came from her early development of Ferromancy as a child.

She is currently a fugitive within Noxus, after escaping the Black Rose Academy and Leblanc.

Rell’s Age in League of Legends

Rell was born in 980 AN, which places the young Ferromancer at 17 years of age. This means if you have read Rell’s awesome lore, you will now know that all she went through was at such a young age.

Laya DeLeon Hayes is the Rell voice actress, and she certainly delivers! She is not only a voice actress, but the 19 year old from the US has actually appeared in movie and tv franchises, such as Kung Fu Panda and the Equalizer.

Rell is our awesome horse-riding Ferromancer, but sometimes she just doesn’t fit our team comp, but luckily we have covered almost every champion in the League of Legends roster on our website, so this should never be an issue for you!

Hi, my name is Eddie, I am a full-time writer and short-form video editor, with a degree in Esports! My main games are VALORANT and League of Legends, so you could say that I am at the beck and call of Riot Games! I have worked previously for a few different websites, doing various roles, such as writing, editing, and even voiceovers, but here at THESPIKE, I am an out-and-out article writer, so I can really get as much content out as I can! I graduated with my Esports degree with a 2:1, and a desire to keep going, so this was a perfect step for me, but I still can't get enough of League of Legends when I'm free.
