How to play Shyvana top

Shyvana can be one of the best junglers in the game for some but they can also played in the top lane. You may see this champion as jungle most of the time but if played effectively in the top lane, you can smurf the game on your own. Here are three different ways to play Shyvana at the top side of

Summoner's Rift:

  • AD Shyvana: This version focuses on dealing high damage with basic attacks and abilities. Prioritize farming and trading effectively using Twin Bite and Burnout to maximize damage output. This build usually includes items that enhance attack speed and damage, making them a formidable duelist.
  • AP Shyvana: As a top laner, AP Shyvana relies heavily on their E - Flame Breath to harass opponents from a distance. The goal is to poke the enemy and farm safely until they can use their Dragon's Descent to make impactful plays around the map. Items like Nashor’s Tooth and Rylai's Crystal Scepter can enhance their poking and kiting capabilities.
  • Bruiser Shyvana: This style balances between offense and defense, using items that provide health, armor, and magic resist alongside damage. The focus is on staying in the fight longer, utilizing Flame Breath and Burnout to chip away at enemies’ health while absorbing damage.

Shyvana counters

Here are three of the best picks against Shyvana:

Rek’Sai

Rek’Sai is effective against Shyvana due to their ability to interrupt Shyvana’s key abilities with knock-ups. Rek’Sai’s underground sonar sense can detect Shyvana trying to flank or engage, allowing them to pre-emptively disrupt their plans.

Elise

Elise can counter Shyvana with their long-range stun (Cocoon), which can stop Shyvana mid-charge, especially during their ultimate, Dragon's Descent. Elise's spider form also allows them to duel Shyvana effectively thanks to their mobility and burst potential

Nunu & Willump

Nunu & Willump excel in securing objectives faster than Shyvana, especially dragons, which are crucial for Shyvana’s passive. Nunu's Consume ability outpaces Shyvana’s damage output on monsters, making it difficult for Shyvana to contest dragons and secure those vital buffs.

Shyvana voice lines

Shyvana is an old champion that has been around for many years, so the odds are very high of you heading their voice lines a couple of times in your games. Here are some of the most popular lines of Shyvana in League of Legends:

  • "The dragon nears."
  • “On wings of fury."
  • "The enemies of Demacia will fall."
  • “Without remorse."
  • “The quiet before battle."
  • “I smell fear."
  • “They should run now."
  • “They have faced nothing like me."
  • “Behold my true form."
  • “Tremble before the power of a dragon."
