Kindred is arguably the most powerful champion in the League of Legends lore, did you know that? Well here is everything you need to know about Kindred in League of Legends if not.Kindred is the embodiment of death and is one of the coolest champions in the entire roster of League of Legends, and whilst they are the most powerful character in the lore, being the embodiment of death, they certainly can also hold her own on the Rift too.
Between Lamb and Wolf, the damage they can deal once they stack her passive on her hunts. The amount of buffs they gets from gaining stacks is ridiculous and every four that you get increases it further, so if you want to know how to become a Kindred god, read on for everything you need to know about Kindred in League of Legends!
Kindred’s abilities in League of Legends
Passive: Mark of the Kindred
This is a long one, so strap in. Kindred marks Jungle camps, either in the enemy jungle or neutral camps, which when consumed give her a stack.
These start at 3:15, on the Rift Scuttler, and then gets placed on enemy jungle camps until Kindred is on 8 stacks, from which it will go onto the large neutral monsters.
Kindred’s jungle camp stacks apply on camps as follows:
- 0: Rift Scuttler
- 1-3: Rift Scuttler, Crimson Raptor, Gromp
- 4-7: Ancient Krug, Blue Sentinel, Greater Murk Wolf, Red Brambleback
- 8+: Rift Herald, Baron Nashor, Dragon, Elder Dragon
Gaining these stacks gives Kindred between 75 and 250 extra auto attack range, as well as on her E, Mounting Dread.
Kindred can actively mark one enemy champion, which after 8 seconds marks them with the Mark of the Kindred, which gives one stack if they gets a kill or assist against that target.
Q: Dance of Arrows
Kindred leaps in the target direction, gaining 35% attack speed, plus 5% for every stack of her passive they has, firing 3 arrows at nearby targets, prioritising her current target.
The cooldown of Kindred’s Q is reduced to a certain amount whilst being used with Kindred’s W, Wolf’s Frenzy. This will set the cooldown of her Q between 4 and 2 seconds, based on the rank of Dance of Arrows.
This is also an auto attack reset, so make sure to weave auto attacks in with your Q as well.
W: Wolf’s Frenzy
The Eternal Hunters have a really basic W ability, but one that perfectly embodies the dual personalities of Wolf and Lamb that make up Kindred.
When Kindred moves or attacks, they build stacks up to 100 of Hunter’s Vigor. At 100 stacks, the next time Lamb attacks a target, she heals based on her missing health, between 47 and 81. This is really good for keeping healthy during early clears for Kindred.
The active of Wolf’s Frenzy spawns a large circle around Kindred when used, in which Wolf dashes to the nearest enemy, attacking them, with priority going to targets lamb has attacked most recently.
These attacks deal magic damage, scaling with Kindred’s attack speed, and they also do 150% bonus damage to monsters.
With this and the interaction with Dance of Arrows, Kindred has a really good clear, but be careful, leaving the circle will dissipate it and place it on cooldown.
E: Mounting Dread
Lamb shoots the chosen target with a mark that slows them for 30% for 1 second and marks them for 4 seconds. This then allows her auto attacks to stack up to 3 times, on which Wolf leaps at the target, dealing huge amounts fo damage.
This is an execute, which does up to 160 damage, with 80% of Kindred’s bonus AD, and 5% of the target’s missing health, as well as an extra 0.5% on top of that for every stack Kindred has.
This also is a critical strike against targets that have less than 25% HP, which raises up to 75% based on Kindred’s critical strike chance too!
R: Lamb’s Respite
Lamb blesses a circle around her for 4 seconds, which means that any living being within the circle cannot pass below 10% HP, and are invulnerable if they reach this level or are already below it.
After the 4 seconds, everyone in the circle are healed for up to 375 HP at max rank.
This is incredible for stopping objectives dying, such as Dragons and Baron Nashor, as it allows you as Kindred to properly time your smite, guaranteeing you get the objective for your team.
When was Kindred released in League of Legends?
Kindred was released onto the Rift to take their top spot as the most powerful champion in the lore in Patch 5.20, just at the end of Season 5. This was on October 14, 2015.
There was a mixup, however, as Shadowfire Kindred came out on September 30, 2015, which was Patch 5.19, the patch Kindred was meant to be released on!
Where is Kindred from in League of Legends?
Kindred is one of the few champions in the League of Legends roster that we know very little about her lore, and one of those is where they comes from.

We also don’t know where they currently are, but we know they just exist in Runeterra, floating around here and there.

Kindred is potentially the oldest champion in League of Legends, being born earlier than recorded history in 9000 BN.

Kindred’s Voice Actor in League of Legends
Being a dual-part champion, Kindred has two voice actors, with Marcella Lentz-Pope being the voice actress for Lamb, and Matthew Mercer being the voice actor for Lamb’s counterpart, Wolf.
Interestingly, Matthew Mercer also voices Gangplank and the skin Captain Gangplank too.
