The mecha-like is one of the go-to champions that most top players thanks to his great skill set if you are looking for a lane bully. Here is everything you need to know about Urgot in League of Legends!

Urgot abilities in League of Legends

Urgot has some cool abilities that make him really strong. Here are all of the Urgot abilities in LoL:

    PASSIVE: ECHOING FLAMES

Urgot's basic attacks and Purge periodically trigger blasts of flame from his legs, dealing physical damage.

First off, his Passive, Echoing Flames, makes his basic attacks and one of his abilities shoot out fire from his legs, hurting his enemies a lot.

    Q: CORROSIVE CHARGE

Fires an explosive charge at the target location, dealing physical damage and slowing enemies caught in the explosion.

His Q, Corrosive Charge, is a bomb he shoots that explodes, hurting and slowing down enemies it hits.

    W: PURGE

Urgot slows himself while he unloads his weapon on nearby enemies. Prioritizes enemy champions Urgot has recently struck with other abilities and triggers Echoing Flames.

With his W, Purge, Urgot shoots rapidly at enemies close to him, focusing on champions he has hit before, and also sets off his passive.

    E: DISDAIN

Urgot charges in a direction, shielding himself and trampling non-champion enemies. If he catches an enemy champion, he will stop and hurl them out of his way.

His E, Disdain, lets him charge forward, protect himself, and can throw enemy champions out of his way.

    R: FEAR BEYOND DEATH

Urgot fires a chem-drill that impales the first enemy champion hit. If that champion falls below a health threshold, Urgot judges them weak and can execute them.

Lastly, his ultimate, R, Fear Beyond Death, shoots a drill that grabs an enemy champion and can finish them off if their health bars are low, scaring other enemies nearby.

Best Urgot build in League of Legends

Building the right items and choosing the right runes for Urgot can make you super strong. Here’s a simple guide on what to pick:

    Items

    • Hullbreaker: This makes you better when you're fighting alone and helps you take down towers faster.
    • Plated Steelcaps: These shoes protect you from getting chunked.
    • Black Cleaver: This item makes it easier to hurt enemies with lots of armor.
    • Sterak's Gage: Gives you more health and a shield when you're in big fights.
    • Jak'Sho, The Protean: This item is great for staying in fights longer because it gives you armor.
    • Thornmail: Perfect for stopping enemies who heal a lot from their attacks.

    Runes

    • Press the Attack: Makes your attacks hurt more after hitting the same enemy a few times.
    • Triumph: Helps you stay alive by giving you health back when you take down an enemy.
    • Legend: Tenacity: Makes it harder for enemies to slow you down or stop you with their abilities.
    • Last Stand: You do more damage when your health is low.
    • Bone Plating and Overgrowth (Secondary): These make you tougher and give you more health as the game progresses.

With these items and runes, Urgot becomes a tanky fighter who can also deal much damage. It’s all about making him strong enough to take hits and keep going.

    How to play Urgot top

Playing Urgot in the top lane means knowing his strong and weak points. He's really good in fights that last a while and can push enemies around because of his protective shield and his W ability. However, he can be slow and runs out of mana fast, so you have to play smart, especially early on when he's not as strong. The key is to use his Q to farm and poke at enemies, be smart about when to go in with E, and use W to win longer fights. Being in the right place and managing his abilities well is really important, especially when using his ultimate to take out important targets in big fights.

    Urgot counters

When playing Urgot in League of Legends, you might find a few champions particularly tricky to deal with. Let's talk about how to face off against Dr. Mundo, Olaf, and Trundle—three champions who can give Urgot a hard time if not approached correctly.

    Dr. Mundo

Dr. Mundo is known for sticking around in lane for a long time because he can heal up quickly, making it tough for Urgot to knock him out. The trick to beating Dr. Mundo is to focus on items that stop him from healing so much. Starting with an Executioner's Calling is a good move because it wounds him badly enough to slow down his healing. Later, you can upgrade this to a Mortal Reminder to keep his healing in check during longer fights. This way, Urgot has a better shot at taking him down.

    Olaf

Olaf can be a real challenge because he doesn't care much about being slowed down or stopped, thanks to his ultimate, Ragnarok. He also gets stronger as he loses health, which can catch you off guard. To handle Olaf, staying a bit away from him and using Urgot's Corrosive Charge to damage and slow him down over time is important. If Olaf uses Ragnarok, it's best to keep your distance until it's over before you try to fight him directly.

    Trundle

Trundle is another tough one for Urgot because of his Subjugate ultimate, which can take away Urgot's defenses, leaving him more open to attacks. Trundle also becomes a better dueler with his other abilities, making direct fights risky. To get around Trundle, moving quickly and smartly is key. Using Urgot's Disdain can help create space between you and Trundle, letting you choose when to fight. An early Bramble Vest is also a smart buy because it cuts down on Trundle's healing from his attacks and passive ability.

    Urgot voice lines

Urgot's things he says in the game show his dark and complex personality. Here are some of the most-known Urgot voice lines:

    • "Power. Fear. These are my weapons."
    • "A city, choking in the Chem-barons' grasp."
    • "Endless misery, mhm... Wonderful."
    • "I want to see their faces when I tear their hope away."
    • "Few will endure the chaos to come."
    • "Their future is carved into my flesh."
    • "I was not reborn in the depths. I merely refused to die."
    • "Carnage—as intoxicating as chemtech."
    • "If they do not stop me, they will die. It is just that simple."
    • "Zaun will be redeemed... in the flames."
    • "If you hide in the shadows, you are only drawing me home."
    • "The weak are condemned."
    • "Cast into a pit of despair, I climbed out on the corpses."
    • "I answer to no one. No matter how loudly they beg."
    • "What is strength if you do not use it?"
    • “Pain is the act of becoming."
    • "It is not violence. It is... philosophy."

    Urgot voice actor

The person who gives Urgot his scary voice is Paul M. Guyet. After Urgot was updated, Guyet brought a new depth to him, making Urgot not just a game character but a story of getting back up and seeking revenge.

    Urgot release date

Urgot was added to League of Legends on August 24, 2010. Since then, he's changed a lot, going from a less popular choice to a champion with a strong place in the game. His journey shows how the game keeps growing and changing, bringing new stories and experiences to the battlefield.

    Why did Swain betray Urgot?

Swain saw Urgot as a danger to Noxus. Urgot believed in strength through chaos, while Swain wanted control and order. Swain tricked Urgot by offering him a higher role in the empire. But once Urgot became a threat, Swain ordered his capture and exile. This betrayal was not personal. Swain acted to protect his own power and the future of Noxus. Urgot never forgot the betrayal and later returned to destroy the empire that turned on him.

    What is Urgot good for?

Urgot is strong in lane, punishes weak opponents, and finishes low-health targets. Players pick him for three main reasons:

    • Lane Control: Urgot wins early trades with his passive and ranged attacks. He holds the lane well against most top laners.
    • Tank and Damage Mix: He builds tank items but still deals high damage. This makes him hard to kill and strong in fights.
    • Execution Power: His ultimate finishes enemies below a health threshold. This helps turn teamfights and stop escapes.

    Is Urgot strong late game?

Urgot starts strong, stays useful mid-game, but drops off a bit late unless ahead. Here’s a simple overview:

    Game Stage

    Urgot’s Power

    Early Game

    Strong

    Mid Game

    Very Strong

    Late Game

    Average

Urgot’s power comes from early pressure and mid-game teamfights. In late game, mobile enemies and grouped fights make him easier to stop. He still adds value with his tanky build and execution, but he needs good timing and team support.
