Welcome to our guide on VALORANT's agent tier list! If you're wondering which agents are the best to play right now and which ones might not be as strong, you're in the right place. We've broken down the agents into different categories based on how good they are in the current game.
How to determine a VALORANT Agent tier list
In VALORANT, things change a lot because the game's makers, Riot Games, often update it. They add new stuff, make some agents stronger, and others weaker. It's important to keep up with these changes by reading the latest updates from Riot. This way, you know which agents got better and which ones didn't. Even if your favorite agent isn't the strongest right now, if you're really good with them, you can still win a lot of games. So, while it's good to know which agents are the strongest, don't forget that playing well with the agent you like is also key.
S Tier
Let’s start with the best agents of the latest patch, 8.0:
Raze
Raze's grenades are super good for taking out enemies and clearing spaces. Her robot can scout ahead safely, and her satchels let her move around quickly, though not as fast as Jett. Mixing her satchels with her rocket launcher, she can quickly attack enemies or grab important spots on the map.
Omen
Omen is great because he can move around easily and still do the job of controlling the game's flow. He's unique because he can fight like a frontline agent while still supporting his team with his abilities. Picking Omen means you get a mix of a fighter and a support, which is why he's at the top.
Jett
Even though Jett was made weaker in a previous update, she's still one of the fastest and most agile agents. She's the best at using sniper rifles because of her quick moves. Jett can also get out of fights quickly, keeping her safe and making her a top pick.
Skye
Skye can heal her teammates, which is special for her role. Her scouting and stunning abilities are the best for taking over areas. She can also find out where enemies are with her abilities, making it easier to control the game. This makes her one of the best agents to pick.
A Tier
Now, it is time for the A tier. These Agents are not the best ones but they are still very reliable. Here are al of the A-tier Agents in VALORANT:
Sova
After Cypher became less powerful, Sova became the go-to agent for finding out where enemies are. He's a bit complicated, but if you learn how to use him, he's very useful. His scouting tools are unmatched, making him a must-have for any team.
Chamber
Chamber was super popular when he first came out. Even though he's been made less powerful since then, he's still a strong choice. He's good at dealing damage and his sniper ability makes him very dangerous.
Viper
Viper is strong on all maps because her abilities can stop enemies from moving forward and take over areas. This makes her a powerful agent to choose.
Killjoy
Killjoy is great at defense but also helpful in attacking. Her gadgets can stop enemies and protect areas. She's not as strong as when she first arrived, but still a good choice if you stay close to the action.
Reyna
Reyna became more popular after Jett was made weaker. She's great for players who are good at aiming and want to take down many enemies. Reyna is a strong choice for those who like to play aggressively.
Cypher
Cypher's defensive skills have been improved, making him a much better choice than before. He's great for keeping an eye on enemies and protecting areas.
B Tier
B-tier Agents are still okay, but there are many better options out there. Here are the B-tier Agents:
Sage
Sage is perfect for new players or those who like to support their team. She can heal teammates, create barriers to block paths, and slow down enemies. She's always useful for keeping your team in the fight longer.
Brimstone
Brimstone shines on certain maps like Bind, where his smokes and ultimate can control enemy movement and secure sites. However, compared to other Controllers, he lacks flexibility. Still, in the right situation, Brimstone can be very effective.
Fade
Fade's abilities to reveal enemies make her a great pick for teams that want to know where their opponents are before making a move. Even though some maps that favored her are gone, Fade's intel-gathering skills are valuable.
Deadlock
Deadlock hasn't quite found her place yet. Her abilities to gather info and control areas are a bit inconsistent compared to other Sentinels, making her less popular.
Gekko
Gekko is unique because he can pick up and reuse his abilities. This makes him interesting, but sometimes his impact isn't as strong as other agents. Still, Gekko can be a fun and effective choice.
Breach
Breach is great for breaking through enemy lines with his powerful abilities. He needs good teamwork to be most effective, which can make him a less common choice for solo players.
Phoenix
Phoenix is easy to pick up and play, with abilities that let him heal himself and control space. He's not the strongest in the current game, but he's a solid choice for learning how to duel.
Astra
Astra used to be top-tier because of her global control abilities. Recent changes have made her harder to use effectively, but for those who master her, Astra can still be powerful.
Iso
Iso is a new duelist with abilities that encourage aggressive play. It's early to say where he stands among other duelists, but Iso offers an exciting way to engage enemies directly.
C Tier
C-tier Agents are usually not preferred by the players. Here are those Agents:
C-tier agents are usually less preferred by players. Agents like Neon, Yoru, KAY/O, and Harbor have unique skills but often don't fit well with the current game strategies. However, the game's creators regularly update agents, aiming to make them more appealing. Even if they're not the top picks now, these agents can still play a crucial role in a team with the right strategy and teamwork.
