Choosing the right Agent in VALORANT can make the game much easier for beginners. Some characters are simpler to learn because of their abilities and the role they play in the team. On the other hand, it is a pretty subjective topic but simple tips will help you find the first Agent you will focus on if you are new to VALORANT. Here are three of the easiest Agents to learn in VALORANT!

Who is the easiest Agent in VALORANT?

This may depend on the player’s role and capabilities but some Agents are obviously easier than others, mainly because of their role and skillset. Determining the easiest VALORANT character may be subjective, but many people agree that Sage is the easiest Agent you can find in VALORANT. However, Sage is not the only easy one to start playing in the game. Sova and Brimstone are considerably easier than the others. Here is a look at all three Agents:

Sage

Sage is often the first choice for new players. She comes from China and serves as a Sentinel, focusing on defense and support.

Sage abilities:

  • SLOW ORB: EQUIP a slowing orb. FIRE to throw a slowing orb forward that detonates upon landing, creating a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it.
  • HEALING ORB: EQUIP a healing orb. FIRE with your crosshairs over a damaged ally to activate a heal-over-time on them. ALT FIRE while Sage is damaged to activate a self heal-over-time.
  • BARRIER ORB: EQUIP a barrier orb. FIRE places a solid wall. ALT FIRE rotates the targeter.
  • RESURRECTION: EQUIP a resurrection ability. FIRE with your crosshairs placed over a dead ally to begin resurrecting them. After a brief channel, the ally will be brought back to life with full health.

Sage’s abilities help her protect and heal her teammates, making her great for players who prefer supporting roles. Her skills are straightforward and do not require deep game knowledge. However, Sage’s wall can be useful in certain ways on different maps, such as Icebox, you may want to learn them too!

Sova’s tools are designed for players who want to help their team by spotting enemies from a distance. His abilities are easy to use and essential for planning team strategies. These make him a good Agent for beginners. Sova has a 49.29% pick rate between June-September 2024, one of the highest out of all the Agents.

Abilities Overview:

  • Dismiss and Devour: Reyna can heal herself or become invulnerable by using the life force of defeated enemies.
  • Leer: She throws an orb that blinds enemies who look at it.
  • Empress: Her ultimate ability makes her faster and automatically heals her when she gets a kill.

While Reyna's abilities may look complex, they are straightforward and great for 1v1 battles or quick peeks. New players should focus on improving their use of these skills. Success with Reyna heavily relies on the player's ability to win gunfights.

Is Raze harder than Jett?

Deciding if Raze is harder to play than Jett depends on personal preferences since both Agents require different skills.

Raze Abilities:

  • Blast Pack: This ability launches Raze into the air or damages enemies.
  • Paint Shells: She throws a grenade that explodes into smaller bombs, covering a large area.
  • Boom Bot: Releases a robot that hunts down enemies and explodes upon contact.
  • Showstopper: Her ultimate is a rocket launcher that destroys enemies in a wide area.

Jett, on the other hand, focuses on movement, precision, and has an escape ability (Tailwind).

  • Tailwind: Moves her quickly in the direction she's facing.
  • Updraft: Lifts her up into the air.
  • Cloudburst: Creates a temporary smoke screen to block vision.
  • Blade Storm (Ultimate): Arms her with throwable knives that can kill enemies instantly and recharge when she gets a kill.

Mastering Raze's explosive gadgets, especially her satchels, requires practice to use effectively for movement and attacks. Jett demands precise control and timing to utilize her mobility and knife ultimate effectively. Both Agents offer rewarding experiences but challenge players in different ways. The choice between them depends on what skills the player finds more appealing or easier to use.
