Gekko VALORANT lore
Mateo Armendáriz De la Fuente, known as "Gekko" in VALORANT, hails from Los Angeles, California. He is VALORANT's twenty-second recruit and the caretaker of Dizzy, Mosh, Thrash, and Wingman, a quartet of creatures called radivores. These radivores possess the unique ability to transform from their default globule state into various animal-like forms. Originally belonging to K-SEC, these radivores now reside with Gekko and accompany him on his journeys. He carries them in a small carrier sash, allowing them to emerge and take shape whenever needed to assist him.
Gekko is characterized as a laid-back, supportive, and kind individual. He places great emphasis on teamwork, encouraging his team to collaborate effectively. He frequently offers compliments when his teammates accomplish tasks or impress him. Gekko values the safety of his team and is open to hearing and considering his teammates' ideas and opinions. Additionally, he often repeats what his radivore creatures say, sharing his thoughts on their dialogues. Gekko's presence contributes to a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the game.
How to play Gekko: Tips and tricks
Gekko is all about strategy and teamwork. Here's how you can play better as Gekko:
Throw Dizzy High for More Blinds
When you use Dizzy, throw it up high. This makes the blinding effect cover a bigger area, blinding more enemies, even those hiding behind things.
Be a Team Player
Although Gekko can do some cool stuff, like blinding enemies and checking corners, it's better to be careful and help your team rather than trying to get a lot of kills on your own.
Reuse Your Abilities
Gekko can use three out of their four abilities more than once, with just a short wait in between. But the Mosh Pit ability can only be used once because it explodes. To use Gekko's abilities to the max, put them in easy-to-reach spots so you can use them again later. This makes Gekko special and can really help your team.
Learn the Mosh Pit Tricks
Knowing the best ways to use Mosh Pit can be really helpful. It helps you clear out spots where enemies usually hide. You can also use it after the spike is planted because it does a lot of damage and covers a wide area. Keep notes on how to use Mosh Pit on different maps to seriously damage your opponents.
Take Care of the Spike
Gekko's big strength is their ability to help with the spike. Always grab the spike at the start of the round and save the Wingman for defusing and planting. Only use the Wingman when it's important because it's most useful for dealing with the spike.
Gekko voice actor
Now, let's put a voice to the character. Alejandro Antonio Ruiz lends their voice to Gekko in Valorant. Ruiz, a talented bilingual Mexican-American actor fluent in both Spanish and English, has left an indelible mark on the gaming industry. Their voice acting skills shine through in their portrayal of Gekko, earning admiration from fans worldwide. But Gekko is just one of many roles in Ruiz's impressive career. From Neymar Jr. in Mobile Legends Bang Bang to Officer Jain in Callisto Protocol, they've breathed life into a diverse array of characters across video games, film, television, audiobooks, and more.
What role is Gekko in VALORANT?
Gekko is an Initiator in Valorant. This means they have special skills that help them access and control areas on the map. But Gekko is different from other Initiators like Sova, Skye, Breach, KAY/O, and Fade. They have their own unique set of skills.
Where is Gekko from?
While Gekko is currently based in Los Angeles, United States, there's a hint of Latin American roots in their backstory. In their reveal trailer, Gekko and their mother converse in Spanish, suggesting a connection to Latin America.
How old is Gekko?
Riot Games has yet to provide official information regarding Gekko's age. However, estimations suggest that this enigmatic Agent is likely in their twenties.
Best Agents to pair with Gekko
To maximize Gekko's potential on the battlefield, consider teaming up with these Agents:
Jett
Gekko's aggressive Initiator playstyle pairs well with Jett. Use Gekko's abilities to reveal and blind enemies, creating opportunities for Jett to secure eliminations and facilitate easier site entry.
Cypher
Cypher's information-gathering abilities complement Gekko perfectly. The intel Cypher provides with Trapwires and Spy Dart can be used by Gekko to incapacitate opponents with blinds, damage, stuns, or detains.
Skye
For a chaotic yet effective combination, team up with Skye. Gekko's Dizzy can reveal and blind opponents, setting the stage for Skye to further disorient them with Guiding Light. With this duo, your team can seize control of the situation and secure the site during post-plant scenarios.
In conclusion, Gekko is a dynamic and strategic Initiator Agent in Valorant, and mastering their abilities can be a game-changer for your team. With Alejandro Antonio Ruiz's exceptional voice acting adding depth to the character, Gekko is set to leave an indelible mark in the world of Valorant. So, equip yourself with these tips, pair Gekko with the right Agents, and get ready to dominate the battlefield like never before!
