Athena Island, the OG Fortnite map, is where it all began for Fortnite players and after all these years, the majority of the players are still missing the battles they had in Tilted Towers with ARs. Luckily, it is coming back as a game mode! In this piece, we explain everything you need to know about the OG Fortnite map and more.

Which one is the OG Fortnite map?

The original Fortnite map, known as Athena Island, is beloved by many players. It was first introduced in Fortnite's Chapter 1 and continued until Season X. The map saw several changes across its life, eventually being reworked into new maps called Apollo and Artemis. However, the classic version of Athena came back in Chapter 4: Season OG. Epic Games recently announced that the OG Fortnite is coming back after the constant pressure from the fans, who missed playing the game’s older version.

Iconic OG Fortnite map locations

There are many iconic locations located in the OG Fortnite map and here are five of the ones that old players can’t forget about:

Tilted Towers

Tilted Towers stands out as the most famous spot on the OG Fortnite map. This urban zone was full of tall buildings and narrow paths, ideal for fun battles and intense gameplay. Because of its central location, players from all directions could easily reach it. The area was perfect for those seeking constant action and was also popular among streamers for its intense fights and plentiful loot.

Pleasant Park

Pleasant Park provided a quieter setting with its suburban layout. The area had large homes and a wide-open park, offering different combat styles. Players could fight from one house to another or use the open spaces for broader battles. The homes served as excellent cover, making Pleasant Park a tactical location for ambushes and defense.

Greasy Grove

In Greasy Grove, players found a charming suburban map section centered around a burger restaurant. This spot mixed cozy houses with a busy central food joint, which was a magnet for early-game action. Starting in the surrounding homes and moving towards the restaurant for better loot was a common strategy here.

Shifty Shafts

Shifty Shafts was unique with its underground tunnels and mining buildings. This area offered a different feel from the more open spaces of the map, favoring close combat and strategic play in confined spaces. It attracted fewer players, allowing for a quieter game or a quick grab-and-go loot opportunity.

Dusty Depot

Dusty Depot was known for its simplicity, featuring three large warehouses in a triangle. The open area between them was risky to pass through due to limited cover. This location required quick movements and was popular for straightforward, fast-paced looting and moving on to other areas.
