From zippy little cars to strong work vehicles, there are a couple of different vehicles that you can build and we will explain everything you need to know about them; building steps, required items, how to steer the vehicle, and more!

How to make a car in LEGO Fortnite

Building a car in LEGO Fortnite begins once you unlock the vehicle recipe. You start with basic items and work your way up to building everything from fast cars to big trucks that meet your needs. Every car requires these basic parts:

  • Wheels
  • Power Center
  • Driver Seats

Here are the steps to assemble any car:

  1. Open the Toy tab, choose the Wheel icon, and select Vehicle Parts to make a Car Jack.
  2. Pick a Vehicle Base from the same section and place it on the Car Jack.
  3. Attach Powered Wheels at the back for movement and Turnable Wheels at the front for steering.
  4. Remove the Car Jack to set your vehicle on the ground.
  5. Make sure all wheels point in the same direction.
  6. Install a Power Center close to the rear wheels to provide power.
  7. Fit a driver's seat inside to control and test drive your car.

Next, let's break down the materials and construction steps for each specific type of vehicle.

How do you power the car in LEGO Fortnite?

To drive your car in LEGO Fortnite, you need power cells. These cells act as fuel. Here's a simple way to make power cells:

  1. Build a Compost Bin with Planks, Soil, Sand, and Fertilizer.
  2. Create Biomass by adding organic waste like food and seeds to the Compost Bin.
  3. Set up a Metal Smelter using Flexwood, Obsidian, and Cut Amber. Your village should be Level 9 or higher.
  4. Make Glass by putting Sand in the Metal Smelter. You can also find Glass in bandit camps.
  5. Combine Biomass and Glass to craft a power cell.

Once you have your power cells, insert it into your vehicle's power center. Don’t forget to check out our power cell guide for more information!

Can you steer a car in LEGO Fortnite?

Steering a car in LEGO Fortnite isn't very concise, as there is no typical steering wheel. However, you can build a steering mechanism using the game's tools. Follow these steps to create a steering system:

  1. Begin with a Dynamic Foundation for your car.
  2. Build two towers inside a fenced area. These towers will act as your steering mechanism.
  3. Each tower should have a base pillar connected to the Dynamic Foundation and a small pillar with a Floor piece on top.
  4. Place Small Thrusters on the towers, facing the direction you need to turn. Add Activation Switches to control them.
  5. After building the towers, destroy the lower parts so the upper parts fall into the fenced area. Activate the Thrusters as needed.

After you build your collection of vehicles in LEGO Fortnite, travel across the map and make traveling fun. The game will always be exciting if you race in a Kart Racer or fly in an Offroad Flyer. Don’t forget to check these guides out:
