How to check Warzone 2.0 player count

Warzone itself lacks an in-game feature displaying the total player count. However, Activision, the company behind the game, shared some noteworthy news. Just five days after its launch, Warzone hit a milestone of 25 million players. This rapid surge in player numbers attests to the game's popularity.

Both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone are accessible via the Steam platform. To find out the player count, turn to the SteamCharts website. It's a valuable resource for statistics related to both games.

Nonetheless, it's essential to acknowledge that while SteamCharts provides a window into player counts, it doesn't encompass gamers on other platforms. Therefore, the complete picture of Warzone's player base remains somewhat elusive, but the numbers we do have are impressive indicators of its success.
 

Over the past 30 days, the average number of players in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 has been around 66,446.6. More impressively, the peak player count for this month reached a remarkable 186,402. These figures underline the immense appeal of Warzone 2 and its thriving player base.

Warzone DMZ Player Count

In Warzone's DMZ mode, it's tricky to determine the exact player count, as it fluctuates continuously during matches. Yet, it's possible to identify the maximum number of players for a specific DMZ game.

On the expansive Al Mazrah map in DMZ, the maximum player count is 66, split into 22 squads of three. However, it's rare to encounter the full 66 players, as players join and leave matches at different times. Some players may choose to exit the game early, reducing the overall player count in the match.

This dynamic nature of DMZ gameplay means that spotting other real players during a match can be a challenge. Most players and squads are typically concentrated in high-traffic areas, preparing for an exfil, or scattered across the map, each with their own objectives. DMZ mode offers a distinct and unpredictable experience compared to standard Call of Duty modes.
 

In the smaller DMZ zones, like Ashika Island from season two or the season four map Vondel, you'll find different player counts. Ashika Island can host a maximum of 18 players, which equals six squads of three. Vondel follows the same format, allowing a maximum of 18 players or six squads. Additionally, Vondel caters to solo or duo players.

Both Ashika Island and Vondel maps have identical lobby sizes, supporting a maximum of 18 players. This setup ensures intense action as six squads of three players navigate the maps.

Warzone peak player count

While we can't provide precise figures for player counts on other platforms, Call of Duty has a strong history of thriving on consoles. As a result, it's reasonable to assume that the peak player count across all platforms might reach up to 2 million concurrent players.

Modern Warfare 2, the precursor to Warzone 2, achieved incredible success, becoming the best-selling Call of Duty release in its opening weekend, generating $800 million in just three days. During the beta phase, Modern Warfare 2 boasted a peak concurrent player count of 169,000, albeit exclusive to the Steam platform. Is Warzone still popular?

The added bonus of Cross-play allows players on different platforms to team up with their friends, regardless of their chosen gaming device.

It's important to note that Steam stands out as the sole platform that readily shares detailed information about the number of active players and offers valuable statistics, including all-time peak, 24-hour peak, and concurrent users.

Warzone 2.0's journey has been marked by a few hiccups, raising questions about its popularity and performance. Activision, the driving force behind the game, took quite some time to address its initial problems. Although the game has largely found its footing now, the slow response time from Activision left a sour taste in the mouths of many players.
 

Even a month after its launch, Warzone 2.0 seemed like a step backward from the original game. It grappled with various issues that impacted the gaming experience. Problems included players being unable to run while applying armor plates, a scarcity of Buy Stations and cash on the map, malfunctioning perks, a lack of one-shot kill snipers, and an overall pacing that felt sluggish.

The positive news is that most of these issues have been resolved, improving the overall gameplay experience. However, it's worth noting that these problems should ideally not have been present in the first place, given the legacy of the original Warzone.
