What is a remake in VALORANT?

In such moments, facing a 4 vs. 5 scenario and continuing the game with one less teammate is far from ideal, particularly at higher ranks where every player's contribution significantly impacts the game's outcome, regardless of their chosen Agent. This is where VALORANT's remake feature, introduced by Riot Games, becomes invaluable in ensuring fair and competitive matches, essentially helping them escape nearly unwinnable situations.
How to remake in VALORANT?
The remake feature is a vote that can be initiated and collaborated on by the entire team to instantly end a VALORANT match toward the beginning of the game. It is only available if one or more team members disconnect early in the match, thus leaving the remaining members at a numbers disadvantage. Here are the steps you need to follow to initiate a VALORANT remake:
- Open the in-game chat.
- Type "/remake" to initiate a remake vote.
- For the remake to succeed, all players must cast their votes by selecting "Yes" using the F5 key.
If a player disconnects right at the beginning of a match, starting from the buy phase and extending to the end of the first round, a "remake call" can be initiated at the start of the second round by typing "/remake" into the chat. However, this limitation restricts remakes to only be initiated during the second round of a map. It is worth noting that for the remake vote to pass, every connected player on the team must reach a consensus through a voting system.

What happens after you remake in VALORANT?
When all the surviving members of a team reach a unanimous decision to initiate a remake in VALORANT, their ongoing match concludes. Subsequently, they are swiftly placed into a new match queue. It's worth noting that remaking a match does not result in any XP gain or alterations to their MMR (Matchmaking Rating). Additionally, the remade game won't be recorded in their match history. However, the players who disconnected earlier will still experience an MMR reduction and face penalties for leaving the match.
What if someone doesn’t vote for VALORANT remake?
When the remake vote is initiated, you may rarely find yourself in a situation where your teammates press the F6 key or type "/no" in the chat box, opting to continue the game despite the unfair circumstances. Regrettably, once your teammates decide to proceed with the match, you won't have the option to initiate another remake vote. In such cases, you'll be left with no choice but to continue playing the game.
