Breeze
Breeze is no easy map to master, especially due to its size. The beach paradise is the largest map in VALORANT, and one of the most open. It has the most open areas in the game, and especially since the Breeze rework VALORANT has notoriously shown to favor longer range matchups on the map. It is truly a Vandal and Operator player's paradise.
So here is the best Breeze Map VALORANT guide out there, with the best VALORANT Breeze strategy you can think of and some tips for effectively outplaying your enemies.
Best agents on Breeze
The best agents and agent composition for Breeze in VALORANT has in its roster are:
All of these agents excel in open spaces, which is what makes them the best agents in to pick up on Breeze. Jett can dash across open spaces, and also take advantage of the map’s lack of verticality to peek enemies from unsuspecting angles. Meanwhile, Sova and KAY/O are very good at firing their scouting abilities across the map early on.
In VALORANT on Breeze, Viper can easily get her team onto a spike site with her E, Toxic Screen, being the longest ranged wall in the game, and Chamber is great as a secondary Duelist. Breeze has limited cover, but with Chamber’s teleport, Rendezvous, he can play out in the open instead!
Whilst we are aware Chamber isn’t a great agent at the moment, playing him on Breeze takes him back to the days of old where he could often substitute for a second Duelist! In the Breeze meta, VALORANT has always favored the Frenchman, especially as he is so good at holding down angles!
While these are our favorite agents on Breeze, make sure to check out our favored agents for each map in VALORANT.
How to play Breeze in VALORANT: A Site
Defending
On A Site, the best VALORANT strategy is to play safe, and avoid peeking down A Cave, even with the changes. Enemies will often sit here with an Operator or Vandal, ready to pick you off.
You have multiple entryways for attackers to push, being A Cave, A Hall and Mid Doors. You need to place a teammate in A Hall, to prevent your team on A Site getting flanked.
We recommend using your utility to stop pushes, and if the agents we listed above don’t suit you, try picking up Killjoy on this vast map. She is great at holding A Site and playing safe whilst doing so.
Attacking
Tips for attacking A Site are that the best place to attack on Breeze is A Site itself! Especially due to how favorable the Spike site is designed towards attackers. You can either push through A Cave, Mid Doors, or A Hall.
If you are playing Chamber or a long-range agent, such as Jett, another one of our tips is that we recommend pushing A Hall and setting up a two-pronged attack with your team going to A Cave.
Mid Doors is also a very good angle to push, especially if enemies aren’t putting a defender in Mid Nest!
How to play Breeze in VALORANT: B Site
Defending
B Site is a lot easier to defend due to there only being two main ways to enter the site. These are through Mid and B Main. Once again, block off B Main, and have someone sitting in Mid Nest, and you are sorted. In VALORANT, Breeze is one of the hardest maps to defend so don’t worry if things don't go according to plan all the time.
We recommend putting only one person on B Site and one in Mid Nest. Some VALORANT Breeze changes would have to come in to make it viable sending any more defenders over to B Site!
Attacking
On B Site, if the enemies put utility and stop your push from B Main, you will likely have to rotate. This is why we suggest always attacking B Site from both B Main and Mid Top.
This way enemies have to split their focus and expose themselves in order to not become trapped in back site. Be careful for flanks from rotating enemies. They can easily rotate from every position on the map.
When did Breeze come out for VALORANT?
Breeze was released alongside VALORANT Episode 2 Act 3 on April 27, 2021, so the map has been out for a while now! This has given us enough time to figure out the best agents for Breeze VALORANT has for us, so try out the agents we suggested!
Where is Breeze located in VALORANT?
Breeze's background in VALORANT is rumored to be a mysterious island in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle and the mysterious architecture draws inspiration from it. You can tell this by the shrouded edges to the map, as well as the large amount of shipwrecked debris that is scattered around it.
A Hall and the middle of the map is actually a wrecked ship as well!
Did VALORANT Remove Breeze?
Breeze has always been a fan-favorite map, so when VALORANT decided to remove Breeze in Episode 6, Act 1, there was a lot of fan disappointment. This was to make space in the competitive pool for the newest map in the game at the time, Lotus.
However, you can still play Breeze on other game modes. Those include:
- Deathmatch
- Custom
- Unrated
How to defend as Killjoy on Breeze
Killjoy, whilst not in our top five agents on Breeze is one of the most popular agents to play on the beach-themed map, so we have decided to give you a good setup for defending each site. She doesn't quite make it due to her lack of attacking presence, but she is still formidable when defending on Breeze!
Defending A Site
When defending A Site, you want to place your Swarm Grenades in front of the two pyramids, towards A Cave. Then place your Alarm Bot in front and in the middle of them. Your Turret then should be placed on top of the boxes stacked in front of the right pyramid.
This allows you to defend from A Cave singlehandedly, and whilst you have little to no cover for Mid Doors, you should have someone sitting in Mid Nest who can call out if enemies push up Mid.
Defending B Site
If your task is to defend B Site, you can either play aggressive at the entryway from B Main, or safe and on the default plant spot. We recommend the latter. Place your Swarm Grenades on the front corners of the pillar on B Site, with the Alarm Bot slightly further forward and in the middle once again.
Your Turret can either go on the front tower of bricks by B Back, or the further back one. They will both defend from a Mid push as well!
How to Defend as Viper on Breeze
Viper is an agent that made it onto our list, and we think she is one of the best to play on Breeze - especially when defending! So we have come up with the two best defensive Toxic Screen walls you can put up to stop a push onto your precious spike sites!
A Site Toxic Screen
This Toxic Screen should be prepared before the round starts. Stand in the left-most corner of the barrier leading from A Site to A Cave.
You should then fire your wall at the gap between the two stacked boxes and the A Cave entryway wall opposite.
The Toxic Screen wall on your minimap should go through A Hall as well!
This stops enemies immediately from sniping down A Hall, such as Jett or Chamber. It also blocks off a rush and a push from enemies in A Cave - but remember to put this wall up immediately to be safe yourself!
B Site Toxic Screen
For this one, you want to stand at B Back, just behind the foremost brick tower at the end of the wall.
Aim at the wall, so that your Toxic Screen icon on the minimap blocks off the entryway from B Elbow to Mid Top, as well as the whole of B Site from B Main!
This ensures that you can safely defend both angles, whilst taking up a safer position!
Tips for playing Breeze
So to round off this Breeze guide, we have our five best tips for playing on the VALORANT map Breeze.
- Always have someone defending from Mid Nest! If you have someone in Mid Nest, then your team can focus on defending from A Main and B Main on the spike sites, without having to worry about checking behind them!
- Attack from multiple angles. Breeze is such a large map with two ways to each site - plus access to both from A Hall. Make sure when attacking, you aren't all just in one chokepoint, and you flank your enemies!
- Don't waste your utility. Breeze is the largest map in VALORANT, and your utility can be used to chop up the map into smalle portions. If you use all your smokes attacking but don't get onto site, then you will really struggle for the rest of the round!
- Watch your flanks. Since Breeze is such a large map, flanking is the norm. Make sure to have at least one agent that can place some sort of trap that alerts your team. This includes Cypher, Killjoy, or Chamber. That way, you have your flanks covered.
- Never dry peak. You are constantly exposed on Breeze so it's important to use flashes or distracting utility to peak if you will be out in the open.
