VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai was very competitive and we watched some intense games but that surely wasn’t the only exciting part about the tournament. During Masters Shanghai, players were given the opportunity to get a hold of a very special title in VALORANT, named “Jiayou.” It is not very common to see this in the game, as there were some requirements to be obtained during the tournament. In this piece, we covered everything you need to know about the “Jiayou title” in VALORANT!

What is the Jiayou Title in VALORANT?

The Jiayou title in VALORANT is a special player title. It first appeared on May 1, 2024, during Act 3 of Episode 8, named Defiance. This title is unique because you cannot buy it in the game, nor can you earn it through normal game activities like completing a Battlepass or finishing a contract. It's a reward that players could only get by participating in a specific event.

"Jiayou" is a phrase from Chinese that means "add oil," similar to saying "go for it" in English. It's a way to cheer people on. In VALORANT, this title connects to the cultural element of support, being especially significant during the VALORANT Champions Tour in Shanghai. Having this title shows that a player was part of a major event and supported their favorite teams.

How to get the Jiayou Title

If you wanted the Jiayou title, you had to watch the VALORANT Masters Shanghai tournament live. Here’s what you needed to do to claim this title:

  • Select a Platform: You could watch the tournament on the VALORANT Esports portal, Twitch, or YouTube. These platforms are where the live games were shown.
  • Link Your Accounts: If you chose Twitch or YouTube, it was important to connect your Riot Games account to the platform you were watching on. This connection made sure the system knew you watched the games and could send you your rewards.
  • Watch the Games: The key to getting the Jiayou Title was to watch the live matches between May 23 and June 8. By watching during these dates, you qualified to receive the title.

This process was the only way to get the Jiayou Title. It required viewers to actively watch the games and support the event.

Can you buy the Jiayou Title in VALORANT now?

No, you cannot buy the Jiayou Title in VALORANT. This title was exclusive to those who watched the VALORANT Masters Shanghai live. It was not available for purchase like other items in the game. This made the title special because only those who participated in the event by watching it could get it. It's a way to show who was really there supporting the event and the teams. Just like the Super Shy title, you can’t get it anymore.
