Bind
Welcome to Bind, VALORANT’s sun-swept coastal city map in North Africa. Mastering this two-site no-mid flanker’s paradise of a battleground will be a whole lot easier with this page on your side, agent.Map overview
Despite being one of the original three maps in VALORANT (alongside Haven and Split), Bind remains a fan-favorite among the global community.
With its dual spike sites, one-way teleporters, and no Mid area to wage war over, Bind is a map that all but guarantees a challenging, dynamic competition between opponents – one filled with surprises for attackers and defenders.
Knowing a map inside and out has never been so critical to success as in the desert-like climate of VALORANT’s Bind.
“Two sites. No middle. Gotta pick left or right. What’s it going to be then? Both offer direct paths for attackers and a pair of one-way teleporters make it easier to flank.” — Riot’s official VALORANT map description
“What has Kingdom done to this town?! However pretty their lies are, they're just sucking my city dry!” Amir “Cypher” El Amari

Area surveillance
Like Split, Bind is a prime example of Kingdom Corp’s invasive “regardless of the costs” attitude. Much of the cultural and historic values of this area have been coarsely swept aside to pave way for K-CORP’s relentless pursuit of progress and profits.
Despite Kingdom Corporation’s wanton corporate corruption of the area, however, fragments of local culture survive to catch the eye across the Bind map perimeter.
Kingdom Corp
The brunt of Kingdom’s presence in Bind is focused on the northern edge of the perimeter.
Between the reactor and laboratory, gloomy industrial panels cordon off the remains of elaborate Moorish archways – a once elegant building, now in mid-demolition, vultured to the bones by cranes in a mournful act of corporate ignorance. A number of vents in this area also suggest Kingdom’s facility here extends deep underground.
Rubbing salt in the cultural wound, Kingdom’s bleak refining towers loom over the landscape, gushing out streams of black smoke, clashing with what remains of the regional architecture and spoiling the distant view of the Atlas Mountains.
If the terrain isn’t coated in dust (as seen towards B Site), then it’s caked in cement (per A Site recon). At both bombsites, radianite extractors, generators, and storage facilities mar the land like unapologetic wounds.
The reactor tower that defines A Site is one of six visible around Bind, advertising the enormous scale of Kingdom’s refining project here.
Kingdom’s A Site reactor contains a sealed test chamber housing an unsettlingly large chunk of crystalized radianite. Reports of small reality tears fluctuating around the crystal are troubling, to say the least.
K-CORP has built a laboratory adjacent to the refining facility in B Site, where a small room shows the refining process they use to convert raw radianite into the storage boxes seen throughout other maps. An undisguised elevator near the center of B Site leads to underground storage for those crates.
This area was the primary target of Omega Phoenix’s tactical strike (during DUALITY).
Cultural resistance
Anti-Kingdom posters dotted throughout Bind show proof that the locals have begun to re-discover their courage and challenge Kingdom Corp’s view that all things are expendable.
Their growing resentment is clear, and shared by many of the VALORANT Protocol, including agents Cypher, Yoru, and Raze.
Culture-rich pockets of Bind include:
• A marketplace (A and B Link), with workshops for thread dyeing, and stores that sell the likes of textiles, pottery, spices, and animals.
•An exotic hookah lounge overlooking B Site (B Window), housing silks, ornaments, lavish cushions, traditional Moorish wood-carved ceiling panels, and carpet-covered floors.
• A public bath near A Site, complete with intricate tiling and traditional Moroccan skylights, joined by a nearby grocery store and bike shop.
• A lamp shop filled with lanterns and a carpet workshop near the teleporter leading to B Site.
• A small stream of water, likely from the Bou Regreg River, reaching from Bind’s southern border (Attacker’s Spawn) to a nearby fountain (B Lobby).
You’ll find most of the surviving Rabat culture of Bind on the southern side of the map (Attacker’s Side Spawn), where rolling sand dunes in the distance feel like a symbolic representation of Rabat’s resistance.
History
Once a thriving economic hub built on a rich cultural history, coastal Rabat has been entirely usurped by Kingdom Corporation in its restless pursuit of radianite.
Though the origin of radianite remains a mystery, Rabat and the area identified as Bind is likely one of K-CORP’s primary sources of the resource. Reports that Rabat’s wealth of radianite comes from a meteor impact crater are considered speculative at this time, though another impact site in Lake Bosomtwe, Ghana, might be the only other source of radianite as significant as Rabat’s known to our databases.
Kingdom’s take-over of the Bind city district was swift, deceptive, and without the consent of the local citizens. Agents Cypher and Viper have spoken often of the lies told by Kingdom to achieve their desired ends here – a large radianite refining factory used to power the K-CORP energy empire.
VALORANT sources confirm that the refinery is only the beginning of Kingdom Corp’s plans for the Bind area. Thankfully, reports also confirm strong opposition from the locals against the corporation’s further attempts to destroy Rabat’s cultural integrity to pave way for their latest projects. It appears they have seen through K-CORP’s lies and are willing to stand up and defend their home.
Gamer’s guide
You want to know how to play VALORANT’s bind map? You’re in the right place, agent…
Bind features
Bind has two primary tactical features every agent should be aware of:
- No Mid.
- Two short-range one-way teleporters.
These features give attackers and defenders a lot of opportunities to rotate quickly, change target sites, or flank the enemy team.
Bind’s teleporter paths are:
- From A Short by Lamps to B Short, on the attacker’s side of hookah (B Window).
- From B Long by Garden to A Lobby, attacker’s side of the Baths (showers).
Walk into a teleporter (TP) to activate it and instantly arrive in an exit room. The door to the exit opens automatically when you approach – it cannot be opened from outside, but it will not protect you from gunfire.
Objects (e.g. from abilities, the spike, or dropped weapons) can go through teleports, any that do will maintain their velocity and can open the exit room door.
Warning: Using a teleporter will audibly alert enemy agents to your location. They will hear this audio cue whether an agent or object used the teleporter.
Map callouts
No Bind map guide would be complete without a list of all the official and community-created map callouts. Memorize these and you’ll be one step closer to mastering this map.
**A – Site **
Area-specific callouts:
- “Tiple boxes” and “Tetris” – the stacked crates central to this area.
- “Tank” – the vehicle beside those stacked crates.
A –Tower (aka “heaven”)
Be on the lookout for Operator snipers in Bind’s heaven.
A – Lamps (aka “Uhaul”)
Be careful chasing enemies through this tightly cornered area.
A – Teleporter
Listen for your teammates to call "TP" when an enemy takes a teleporter. These teleporters make a helluva noise when used – be ready to react when you hear it!
A – Short (aka “mid”)
There’s technically no Mid in Bind, so if you hear a “mid” callout, this is the place.
A – Bath (aka “showers”)
There is an Ult Orb available for pick up here. Expect it to be a high-traffic area in most matches you play here.
A – TP Exit
A – Lobby
A and B – Link (aka “market”)
Pictured here from the A side of this map area, Bind’s market is a heavy rotation position likely to be called out a LOT in any match.
B – Site
Area-specific callouts:
- “Elevator” –the container-like structure central to this area.
- “Cubby” – the alcove facing the elevator (POV in the above image), with views of B Hall and Garden.
- “Shiny” – radianite crates near the elevator, strong tactical position.
B – Hall
B – Elbow
B – Garden (aka “arches”)
B – Long (and TP)
B – Window (aka “hookah”)
Though it overlooks B Site, hookah isn’t enough high ground to be considered “heaven” in Bind. Still, with its many corners, it’s a favorite spot for enemies to hang out. Breach this area with extreme caution!
B – Short (and TP exit)
B – Fountain
Attacker Side Cave
Defenders might flank through here, so be wary if you’re an attacker traversing the map, particularly later in a round.
Spike sites
Like most VALORANT maps, Bind has two possible sites for you to plant the spike – A and B. You can breach each site via two main paths.
A Site access routes:
- Through A Bath (“showers”).
- Through A Short (“mid”).
B Site access routes:
- Through B Garden (“arches”).
- Through B Window (“hookah”).
Ultimate Orbs
Bind contains 2 Ult Orbs – one in front of B Teleporter entrance, the other in A Bath (“showers”).
Lore locations
You can access emails related to Kingdom Corp’s activities in A Tower (“heaven”).
What agents are good on Bind?
As any kickass VALORANT player knows, the best agents for any map are the ones you’re best with. That said, these agents’ abilities lend themselves beautifully to dominating Bind.
Best Duelists - Raze or Jett
Raze is a rock-solid pick for best Bind duelist.
• Her abilities are great at clearing angles and oppressing enemies, whether you’re attacking or defending.
• She’s excellent at countering defenses and quickly infiltrating either bomb site.
• Both Boom Bot and Paint Shells work like charms when thrown directly into A Short or through the TP for hookah.
• Boom Bot makes short work of clearing the otherwise dangerous tight corners of Lamps (“Uhaul”), and any other similarly dangerous high-traffic area like A Bath (“showers”).
• Paint Shells + narrow angles and small cubbies = HEFTY damage and instant area clearing.
• Her ultimate, Showstopper, has serious round-winning potential in Bind.
There’s a reason so many consider Jett VALORANT’s best Duelist – there isn’t really any map she doesn’t work on, and Bind is no exception (though she’s less perfect here than Raze).
• Jett’s Tailwind is dead handy to push into Lamps or B Site fast.
• Cloudburst is an invaluable way to cover angles just about anywhere on the map.
• Updraft might well be the easiest way to get on top of Bind’s various boxes for those oh-so-juicy unconventional angles.
• Lastly, Blade Storm is a perfect trick for smashing those eco rounds.
Best Initiators - Gekko, Fade, or Skye
When choosing an Initiator for Bind, you’ve got a healthy selection.
Since Gekko can throw all of his abilities into the teleporters (a dead handy trick for faking out the enemies), he’s a perfect choice for Bind. But let’s not also forget…
• You can throw those abilities through gaps and windows, for those extra sneaky strategies and to assist ally sieges.
• Dizzy (Gekko’s flash) is mad useful for clearing out just about any area, especially A Short and B Long.
• Mosh Pit makes short work of clearing out crafty nooks like Cubby in B Site.
• Wingman’s ability to plant or defuse the spike can make or break a clutch round.
• Thrash is brutal in close quarters, where enemies won’t have a chance to destroy it.
• His swift ability recharge lets you use each of Gekko’s pets many, many times per round,
Skye’s usefulness on Bind can’t be understated either…
• Her flashes are top-notch ways to work those narrow angles, gather intel, blind enemy agents, and set up your team for the win.
• Seekers and Trailblazer are both equally handy when it comes to retakes and clearing positions like B Elbow, A Lamps, B Window (“hookah”), and A Bath (“showers”).
• Her ability to heal teammates is always praiseworthy.
• She can also trigger teleporters with most abilities.
Fade is probably just as good as Gekko and Skye on Bind…
• Haunt’s a stupidly helpful way to pinpoint enemy locations, and there are so many high areas to drop it on that give you eyes on an entire site.
• Prowlers can clear out tight areas like Lamps lickedy-split.
• Seize cracks open tight angles and strong defensive positions like Cubby like they’re nothing. Pair it with Raze’s paint shells for swift and might destruction.
• Nightfall is downright outstanding whether you’re pushing on attack or retake.
• Oh, and her abilities can also trigger teleporters.
Best Controllers - Brimstone or Viper
It’s hard to argue with Brimstone as a Controller choice for Bind…
• His triple smokes are hands-down the best smokes you could ask for in Bind – they’re the perfect way to lock down critical angles of the map.
• Stim Beacon is always a solid way to give your team an edge.
• Incendiary grenades are perfect for post-plant scenarios.
• Orbital Strike is a laughably powerful way to clear out any area if you’re smart about it.
Same goes for Viper…
• Using Toxic Screen to block entry paths or cut an area in half is a game-changer when used right in Bind – when handling either bomb site, or in blocking B Window (“hookah”) and B Garden (“arches”) then using one-way smokes in A Bath (“shower”) or A Short to cover both sites.
• Snake Bite is an absolute beaut for post-plant life.
• Viper’s Pit covers almost all of either bomb site, making life tough for enemies trying to retake it.
• If paired with Brimstone, your team will have some truly devastating control over the enemy on Bind.
Best Sentinels – Sage or Killjoy
Sage might well be one of the best agents for Bind fullstop…
• She can easily cut off teleporter flanks.
• Her walls will give you the most incredibly unexpected angles, and provide much-needed cover for safe spike planting.
• Using her Slow Orb to stop enemies jumping down from B Window (“hookah”) and slow down enemy pushes leaves them ripe for fragging inside B Site.
Killjoy’s another no-brainer for defensive firepower on Bind – use any of her abilities to prevent rushes, push enemies back, guard your flank, and reinforce those post-plant plays.
News
Bind removed
Riot removed Bind from the VALORANT map pool in January 2023 for some major map remodelling.
This caused some serious upset among the VALO community since Bind has been a favored map since the earliest days of VALORANT, but it wasn’t a decision Riot made lightly. While Bind was removed from competitive and unrated play, fans were still able to play the original map in other game modes.
By April 25, 2023, Riot’s developers had successfully upgraded the Bind map to provide a better experience for gamers, and re-released Bind in patch 6.08
Bind map changes
Bind returned to VALORANT’s map pool with the following changes to shake up gameplay and map control…
- A Bath (“showers”) was widened to make clearing angles easier, and the nearby teleport exit was moved closer to the entrance.
- The layout of triple boxes/Tetris in A Site was changed, as were some areas at the back site.
- The doorway between Showers and A Site was widened, making pushes easier.
- B Elbow gained a window and B Hall’s doorway got wider.
