What’s the Fortnite Zombies map code?
Fortnite’s Creative Mode offers plenty of custom maps for players to try out… including a Zombies Mode! Here’s how to access it.Fortnite’s creativity has never ceased to amaze its playerbase: the sheer variety of things to do in the game means that, even for the most seasoned of players, there always seems to be a new experience—which is why, at the time of writing, the 2017 game still boasts more than 3 million players at any given point.
But even with the veritable gamers’ buffet that Epic Games cooked up for its patrons, the company still managed to integrate a BYOB option: Creative Mode, wherein players can take advantage of Fortnite’s dynamic engine to create custom maps, matches, and even entire game modes.
With a little bit of out-of-the-box thinking and spooky inspiration, some creators have leveraged Creative Mode to import Zombies-centric maps into Fortnite—and we’re here to tell you how to access these maps, and what to expect from them.
What is Zombies Mode?
Long-time players of the Call of Duty franchise will immediately recognize the name “Zombies Mode.” For some, it resurfaces a sense of accomplishment, recalls hours of running and gunning, and evokes vivid images of Ray Guns and Pack-a-Punch Colas.
(For others, the name brings up memories of fear and frustration at getting run down helplessly by brainless hordes. To each their own.)
First released in Call of Duty: World at War in 2009, the archetypal Zombies mode involves players spawning with rudimentary guns in an enclosed arena. As the match progresses, players kill Zombies who attempt to break into their enclosure, obtain better weapons, upgrade their stats, and try to survive the horde as long as possible.
Other, later iterations of the mode introduced variations: a definite endgame, secret story-based easter eggs, and even an open-world version in Call of Duty: MWIII.
But the simple, tried-and-true survival formula retains a cult following—so much so that some have used Fortnite’s Creative Mode to bring Call of Duty’s undead shooter to Epic Games’ flagship title.
And we’ve gotta say—they were pretty successful.
Best Fortnite Zombies Map Codes
Because anyone can create custom modes in Creative, curious players have several Zombie-esque maps to choose from. Here are some of the best:
Map Name | Creative Code | Description |
Zombieland | 9369-6922-8408 | Kill zombies to access higher floors in the central tower, better weapons, and more options! |
Deadpines: Zombie Survival | 0598-1708-7538 | Open-world, roguelike mode with hordes of zombies and vehicles. |
Heroes Zombieland | 8476-8997-9615 | Traditional zombies gameplay, with a twist: your characters will have superpowers! |
Zombieland 2 | 6773-4451-6105 | It’s Zombieland, but harder: custom maps, better bosses, and more aggressive hordes. |
Deadpines 2: Zombies Survival | 1663-7943-3194 | This zombies map is exploration focused, offering points of interest like creepy prisons and spooky carnivals. |
There are other options, too: search “Zombies” in the Creative Mode search bar, and see what you can find!
What About Battle Royale Zombies?
Players who have loaded up the battle royale at any point during any Halloween season probably remember Epic Games’ favorite way of celebrating the holiday: sticking zombies in unexpected locations on the BR map to jumpscare and attack players.
They don’t pose much of a threat—more of a nuisance. But adrenaline junkies might want that on-edge feeling back. So is there a way to play this undead-laden version of the battle royale during the non-pumpkin months?
Unfortunately, not in the officially supported battle royale. If you want to play an authentic Fortnite Battle Royale match with zombies integrated, you’ll have to wait for October to roll around.
In the meantime, you can satisfy your urge to slay the undead with Zombieland… and even earn some Battle Pass XP on the side! (Yes, killing zombies levels up your Battle Pass. It’s a big-…. ahem… “brains” move.)
