From battle royales in Al’Mazrah to rocking Resurgence mode on Ashika Island, there’s a reason so many players grab an SMG for their close-quarters combat. And there’s a reason why among the 10 best guns in Warzone 2, THREE of those guns are SMGs (and TWO are in the top 5 guns!).

Of course, as anyone who’s played Warzone 2 for a while knows well, gun meta changes faster than the winds when new seasons and nerfs hit. But one thing that never changes is the power and win-factor of the mighty SMG.

So join us as we take a tour through the best SMGs in the game, and kit you out with a beast of a rapid-fire weapon that’s sure to bag you your next victory.

Top 10 SMGs in Warzone 2

When it comes to close-quarters weapons, nothing beats an SMG.

And if you’re wondering what’s the best SMG to shred your enemies apart with in Warzone 2, you’re in the right place…

10. PDSW 528

The only reason you’re seeing the PDSW 528 in this list of top 10 SMGs is because we’re filling numbers. There are only about 6 or 7 SMGs genuinely worth your time, and this isn’t one of them. Still, if it’s all you’ve got, the PDSW has a decent mag size and bullet speed. And it’s pretty nimble too.

9. MX9

Not the best, but certainly not the worst SMG in Warzone 2’s armory. The MX9 has a solid TTK, but very little else that makes it a standout choice. Our advice? Scroll a little further, find an SMG that’s dominated across multiple seasons.

8. Fennec 45

Once the best SMG in Warzone 2, the Fennec 45 sank like a stone after its season 2 nerf and hasn’t been able to climb higher ever since. Still, with a top loadout, the Fennec 45 can be a mighty machine.

7. FSS Hurricane

Now we’re starting to cook with fire. The FSS Hurricane isn’t the best SMG by a long shot, but it’s got a solid combo of desirable traits – smooth handling, low recoil, and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it rate of fire.

6. Vaznev-9k

In a tale as old as time, the Vaznev tumbled down the pecking order after a series of unfortunate nerfs. It’s not the SMG we’d take into battle, but it’s still plenty versatile and unnaturally accurate for an SMG, too!

5. VEL 46

One of season 3 and 4’s most popular SMG choices, the VEL 46 took a bit of a hit to its TTK recently, but despite that kick in the teeth, it’s still one of the best of the bunch. Say hello to high mobility, virtually non-existent recoil, and up-close devastation for your enemies.

4. ISO 9MM

This new SMG is fighting hard for a spot on the podium. And with handling, mobility, manageable recoil, and a savage TTK like this, we think it’ll take that spot soon enough! Rapid-fire domination awaits.

3. ISO 45

One of the best SMGs since season 4, some would argue the ISO 45 deserves the top spot on this list. They’re likely being sentimental though. Sadly, nerfs have definitely stolen the ISO 45’s crown, and despite its impressive handling, it’s simply not the best SMG available anymore.

But hey - it’s in position 3, so quit grumbling! The ISO 45 is still an absolute death machine in the right hands.

2. Lachmann Sub

Some might say the Lachmann Sub has no weaknesses… and we’re inclined to agree! Solid range, recoil, mobility - this beauty will never let you down. Despite a bunch of nerfs, it's still easily one of Warzone 2’s most popular guns.

1. BAS-P

From runt of the SMG litter to king of the crop, roll back a few seasons and no one would have believed the BAS-P would make a top 10 list, let alone top it! Yet here we are, with a BAS-P that boasts one of the fastest TTKs at close range, the highest damage range of all the SMGs, and a higher pick rate than the fan-favorite Lachmann Sub.
