Team Vitality, FUT Esports and Angry Titans qualify for playoffs - VRL Finals Day 4
The playoff bracket of VRL - Finals is set as the Group Stage games are over now. Team Vitality, FUT Esports, and Angry Titans are the latest playoff participants, other than Case Esports, whose spot was already guaranteed yesterday.
TENSTAR and Team Vitality were two sides of the decider match of Group A. In their first match, the Polish side managed to pick up the win but today, the scenario was different. Team Vitality’s map pick was Breeze. The VRL - France: Revolution - Stage 2 - Main Event champions made a great start to the map by winning the pistol round. Even though they lost the first gun round, Vitality’s attacking performance in the first half was surely impressive. They picked up 8 rounds and lost 4. The VALORANT Champions winner, Santeri "BONECOLD" Sassi led his team with a 1.39 rating but every player on the side of Vitality performed well. Jakub "maniek" Mańkowski’s Jett picked up 13 kills in the first half and held a 1.26 rating, which was the biggest factor behind TENSTAR’s 4-round wins. Vitality won another pistol round at the beginning of the second half but again lost the first gun duel. However, they managed to keep their performance up and won the game after 10 rounds of second-half action. Vitality started the series strongly with a 13-9 win on Breeze. 3 players picked up 20 kills but BONECOLD had the best rating with a 1.37. Kamil "baddyG" Graniczka followed his lead with a 1.33 rating.
TENSTAR picked Bind as the second map of the series and it was do-or-die time for them. The VRL - Eastern Europe: Surge - Stage 2 - Main Event winners started the map very strongly with an impressive pistol round. They only lost 1 member and showed signs of the upcoming domination. Until the end of the half, they only lost 2 rounds and won 10, dominating the attacking side on Bind. Wojciech "Stix" Chamielec and Piotr "YouBreak" Chodoła played superbly, both grabbing 13 kills in the end. Interestingly, we saw better domination from the side of Team Vitality in the second half. After losing the pistol round, for the first time in the series, Vitality won the first gun round and they smurfed on their opponents on the attacking side. Vitality won 11 rounds in a row and closed out the series with a classy performance on Bind, 13-10. Joona "H1BER" Parviainen and Nathan "nataNk" Bocqueho both held a 1.21 rating throughout the map.
Yesterday, FUT Esports had a great performance against Team Falcons and today, it was the battle for the first spot in Group B. The first map of the series was Haven and Angry Titans made a great start with a defuse in the pistol round. FUT’s attacks got better after the first gun round and the team even completed a 5-round winning streak. At the end of the first half, FUT had 7 and Angry Titans had 5 round wins. FUT’s Konuralp "qw1" Şahin had a great Jett performance with a 1.51 rating and 12 kills. However, Buğra "MOJJ" Kiraz led his team in gunfights with 287 ACS. Titans’ Omen, Marco "HearthBeat" Soffia, finished the first half with a 1.31 rating and 13 kills. Generally, FUT had a better performance in the second half as they defended the bomb sites almost perfectly. Angry Titans could only pick up 3 rounds whereas FUT won the first map after successfully defending the sites 6 times in the second half. The first-half heroes for both sides kept their performance and led their teams at the end of the game. qw1 and MOJJ had 19 kills and HearthBeat had 22.
The last map of the day was Split. FUT made a good start by winning the pistol round but Angry Titans managed to tie the competition with their successful attacks. The first half ended in a tie, 6-6. qw1 held a 1.41 rating and grabbed 16 kills on Chamber, helping his team on defense. Titans’ Taranvir "bipo" Singh had the best rating with a 0.99 on Breach. The second half was almost a copy of the first one. Both teams won back-to-back rounds and they failed to break the tie. Angry Titans won the last 2 rounds to force overtime but FUT did not make any mistakes in the first cycle of the overtime rounds. The Turkish team grabbed the win and clinched the first spot in Group B. Once again, MOJJ and qw1 played perfectly but we should praise qw1’s Chamber a little more. The Turkish player held a 1.46 rating and grabbed 30 kills, carrying his team on the battlefield.
