Just a day before the start of VCT 2025 - Pacific Stage 1, Rex Regum Qeon have announced the signing of former BLEED Esports and Disguised player Ngô "Crazyguy" Công Anh. The Vietnamese veteran will take over as the team’s In-Game Leader, replacing Park "Estrella" Gun at the helm.

This last-minute roster move signals RRQ’s attempt to course-correct after a disappointing start to the 2025 season. But will it be enough to turn their fortunes around?

RRQ’s Upward Trajectory in 2024

Although RRQ have not been among the top contenders in VCT Pacific, they showed flashes of brilliance toward the end of the 2024 season. Despite failing to qualify for any international tournaments, the Indonesian organization made a name for themselves by taking down regional giants such as DRX and Gen.G Esports—the latter of whom went on to win VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai.

Their gradual improvement gave fans hope that they could push for a higher finish in 2025. However, those hopes were quickly dashed by an early elimination in the VCT Pacific Kickoff.

A Rough Start to 2025

RRQ’s first tournament of the year ended in disappointment, as they were knocked out of VCT 2025 - Pacific Kickoff by Nongshim RedForce—a team that had only just been promoted to the league. This early exit likely prompted the team to shake up its leadership and bring in a new IGL to bolster their strategies.

Enter crazyguy, a seasoned player known for his tactical mind and wealth of experience in the Pacific region.

crazyguy’s Rocky Journey to RRQ

crazyguy was a part of Bleed Esports’ historic Pacific Ascension-winning roster in 2023. However, Bleed struggled to compete against top-tier teams in their first year in VCT Pacific, finishing last in VCT 2024 - Pacific Kickoff.

Following their poor showing, crazyguy was benched for Stage 1, but his return in Stage 2 did little to change the team’s fortunes. Bleed continued to struggle, ultimately finishing as the weakest team in the league.

Things took a turn for the worse when Riot Games removed Bleed from the partnered league, citing "failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the TPA." The organization disbanded soon after, and crazyguy found himself back in the tier 2 scene, competing under DSG.

Now, eight months since his last appearance on the big stage, he returns to VCT Pacific with RRQ.

A Risky Gamble for RRQ?

The timing of RRQ’s roster change raises questions about their stability heading into Stage 1. Making a last-minute swap at such a crucial time could disrupt team synergy, especially when facing more established rosters. However, with RRQ already struggling, the organization seemingly has little to lose by rolling the dice on a new leader.

The true test of this gamble will come on March 24 at 8 PM KST | 11 AM UTC, when RRQ face none other than Nongshim RedForce in their opening match of Stage 1.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the roster, one big question remains: will estrella be benched, or will another player be sacrificed for this shake-up? The answer will soon be revealed on the VCT Pacific stage.
