Riot Games will fix Killjoy's turret exploits on Split next patch
VALORANT’s latest agent, Killjoy, dropped with patch 1.05, which introduced the deathmatch mode and nerfed Raze as well. The tech-savvy VALORANT character brings with her a pretty interesting kit of small little bots and a turret that can be placed around corners for intel. Thankfully, they don't do much damage, but they are still pretty annoying to play against. However, it goes further than that, as players discovered an exploit on Split where you can place a turret under the map and it will still work as intended.
Players have been fast to complain about Killjoy’s turret bug on the map, and VALORANT’s Lead Character Designer, Ryan “Morello” Scott, finally acknowledged and addressed the situation. VALORANT Game Designer, Ryan “Rycou” Cousart, jumped in the conversation and promised a fix for it on Split specifically is coming with the next patch. Considering the update was delayed to August 20th, due to Riot Games’ break, players will have to endure facing off against Killjoy and her underground turrets for now.
We have seen these kinds of instances before with Omen being able to teleport underground on Haven to plant on C site during the tactical shooter’s closed beta in preparation for the ranked mode release. The developers at the time were quick to fix it, and although this time it is taking a little longer, it is understandable they want to avoid it being replicated on other maps as well.
