Team Heretics and CGN Esports announce strategic partnership ahead of VCT 2025
Two EMEA-based esports organizations, Team Heretics and CGN Esports, have joined forces in a partnership ahead of the VCT EMEA 2025 season. This collaboration aims to revolutionize the European esports scene, blending competition, community, and culture with a shared vision for innovation and engagement.
Founded in 2020, CGN Esports has rapidly risen as a prominent player in the DACH region. The German org fields teams in various esports titles such as VALORANT and Fortnite. In 2024, CGN had quite a decent season. They finished 1st and 2nd in the VALORANT Challengers 2024 DACH - Evolution Split 1 and VCL - DACH Evolution Split 2 respectively. This also granted them a chance to play at the VCT 2024 - Ascension EMEA Play-Ins, and ultimately qualify for VCT 2024 - Ascension: EMEA. At Ascension, however, they failed to claim the ultimate prize, as they fell to PCIFIC Esports and finished in 3rd place. This was a vast improvement over their 2023 results, where they were knocked out in the Group Stage.
Team Heretics, on the other hand, are a very well-known and established name in the world of competitive VALORANT. They had a very dominant season in 2024, and were easily one of the best teams in the world, even though they did go trophyless. With consistent podium finishes at every VCT EMEA event, they even had spectacular runs at VCT 2024 - Masters Shanghai and VCT 2024 - Champions 2024, claiming 2nd place in both events.
A Shared Vision for Excellence
This partnership represents a unified commitment to advancing esports and gaming culture across Europe. Both Team Heretics and CGN Esports bring unique strengths to the table, ensuring a broader reach and deeper connection with young audiences.
“Entering the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region with a strong partner like CGN is an honor for us. Heretics and CGN are united by a vision to inspire the next generation of esports fans through performance, creativity, and authentic community engagement.”
Niklas Geiß, VCT & LEC Team Director at Team Heretics.
For Team Heretics, this collaboration opens doors to the DACH region, bolstering their presence in a vital European market. Meanwhile, CGN Esports gains expanded visibility in Spain and beyond, allowing both organizations to grow their brands and prepare for significant esports milestones like VCT EMEA and Champions 2025.
