VCT Masters Tokyo 2023: Schedule, teams, dates, format
VCT 2023 - Masters Tokyo will be the season's second VCT LAN event, and it is right around the corner. We only have a couple of days until the kickoff, and there are many things to catch up on before the VALORANT tournament commences. For your convenience, we gathered all the information you need about VALORANT Masters Tokyo 2023 schedule, teams, dates, and format!
12 teams have been getting ready to win the title in Tokyo, and the players have started practicing their new strategies in the city. The tournament carries an important role in VCT 2023, and it is also an important event for all the teams before VALORANT Champions 2023.
VCT Masters Tokyo format
The twelve teams were divided into two groups. The international league champions progress to the playoffs, while the remainder begins their journey in the group stage. Because the EMEA region has four representatives, as Fnatic won the LOCK//IN 2023 trophy, the runner-up will progress to the playoffs.
Outside of the playoffs, the eight teams will compete in a double-elimination group stage, with each group playing in a four-team double-elimination bracket. The top two clubs from each group with the best record will progress to the playoffs.
The four teams who advance from the group stage will be assigned to the playoff bracket randomly. Furthermore, teams from the same group will be put on the opposite side of the bracket to avoid rematches in the early stages of the playoffs.
Except for the lower bracket final and grand final, which will be best-of-five (bo5), all matches will be best-of-three (bo3).
