KOI announce previous VCT Champion starxo as their fifth player
One of VCT 2023 EMEA League’s newest teams, KOI have announced four players for their VALORANT roster for the upcoming season a while ago. However, the final puzzle piece was missing. Today, the Spanish organization revealed their final core player. After parting ways with Acend the day prior, Patryk "starxo" Kopczynski joins KOI to continue competing in the highest level of action in EMEA.
The Spanish organization made its first appearance in the scene last year by competing in the regional Spanish competition. Despite reaching the semifinals in the first stage, KOI placed 9th in the VRL 2022 Spain: Rising Stage 2 and faced demotion. However, this year they are competing in the highest stage of competition in EMEA after receiving a ticket to franchising. KOI had already announced the arrival of four players, as covered. Today, starxo, the VCT Champion of 2021, joined the organization to fill the missing spot.
starxo played for a couple of different organizations before joining Acend ahead of the VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters and won his first major trophy. Whilst playing for Acend, he came up against the best teams in Europe and qualified for two different international tournaments. Most importantly, starxo won the first VALORANT Champions tournament back in 2021. He had a silent year last season alongside his teammates at Acend due to a general slump and team identity troubles. He now has another chance to repeat his previous success, this time with KOI. starxo currently holds a 1.09 rating and a 207.8 ACS. Skye is his most-picked agent throughout his career followed by Sage.
