WRONSKI announces retirement and steps down from Global Esports
Michael "WRONSKI" Wronski, a well-known personality in the VALORANT esports community, has unexpectedly announced his retirement from competitive gaming. This information comes soon after he left Global Esports, shocking fans and piqueing their interest in the player's and team's futures.
WRONSKI retires from competitive VALORANT
Eight months have passed since the Australian-Laotian player signed with Global Esports to participate in the VCT Pacific League. He was the first player from Oceania to have ever participated in the top league of the game throughout his time with GE.
WRONSKI, however, had a rather low presence on the server because he was unable to attend the VCT LOCK//IN in Sao Paulo earlier this year due to personal reasons. In the same way, during the regular season of the VCT Pacific League, Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar was still missing because of a delay in the processing of his visa, and his participation in-game was restricted to just nine maps. As the squad opted to forgo the notion of a rotating lineup and instead chose to concentrate on the same group of five players until their final week in Seoul, the role conflicts with the roster further pushed him to a less active position for the remainder of the season.
WRONSKI said that the esports sector was not a good fit for him in a sincere public speech in which he also thanked Global Esports, his former teammates, and instructors. He said, “This industry isn’t for me but I feel blessed to have been a part of it even just for a little while. Thank you again to everybody that has been with me.”
WRONSKI’s VALORANT career
WRONSKI made a reputation for himself before joining Global Esports by competing on a variety of illustrious squads in the VALORANT Champions Tour Oceania circuit, including Funcrew, PEACE, Team Bliss, Chiefs, Mindfreak, and ORDER.
PEACE, a team that was scheduled to represent Oceania in the 2021 North American Last Chance Qualifier after winning the 2021 VOT Championship, was where WRONSKI's journey outside of Australia began. He became a star player, ending the 352-round season that brought him the championship with a VLR rating of 1.20 and an average of 292.4 ACS. However, they were unable to reach Los Angeles, nor could ORDER because to travel restrictions.
The 2022 season then began with WRONSKI and Mindfreak competing in Stage 1. However, ORDER quickly became interested in his performance and hired him for the rest of the campaign. WRONSKI earned his spot in the VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers while playing for the Oceania powerhouse, as he helped the squad win the 2022 VOT Stage 2 Challengers. Following ORDER's victory in the 2022 VOT Championship, the team qualified for the 2022 Last Chance Qualifier, which resulted in a closely fought 5th–6th place finish.
Global Esports suffered defeats in league games against both teams. But one Champions 2023 seat is still up for grabs in the VCT 2023 - Pacific League - Last Chance Qualifier , giving Global Esports a chance to redeem themselves. On July 19, the squad will play Rex Regum Qeon, and if they win that game, they will play ZETA DIVISION the following day.
After WRONSKI's, retirement Global Esports' roster is now:
