Vodafone Giants add exerZ to active roster
After several weeks of relative inactivity, and despite trialing other members, GIANTX have officially added the player who has often been standing in for Rodolfo "StarWraith" Martin since August, Miguel "exerZ" Marín, to their active roster.
exerZ is quite a notable Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player from Spain, having represented organizations such as Movistar Riders and Team Heretics in the game. He won the €25,000 Bilbao Esports Tournament in 2017 with KPI Gaming, and participated in many seasons of ESL Masters España with several different teams, his highest being 2nd in 2017’s Season 2, also with KPI Gaming.
Since moving over to VALORANT, exerZ has played with many different Spanish rosters. He was part of the SUPERSTARS team that formed the core of Vodafone Giants’ initial roster, but was not originally picked up with his teammates and spent some time playing with Team123. He joined Giants as a stand-in for Allied Esports Odyssey, in which the team showed promise but ultimately finished in last place. Since the event, Giants have trialed a number of different players, most notably Sammy "iDEX" Van de Weghe, but have ultimately come back to exerZ to complete the team. While he has historically mostly played Cypher, Vodafone Giants’ official announcement mentions using him on agents such as Reyna to be an entry fragger.
“Both HITBOX (Vodafone Giants’ coach) and I agree that the roster is very comfortable playing with exerZ,” said Giants’ Head of Gaming Operations, David Alonso, in the official announcement. “We want to give you the opportunity to work with us and see how far we can go together,” he continued.
Now that their roster is complete, Vodafone Giants will look to improve their recent results, which have them dominating at the Spanish level but failing to make their mark on the broader European scale. Vodafone Giants will debut with exerZ at today’s LVP - Genesis Cup Fuego against the new roster of Team Heretics.
Vodafone Giants are:
Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego Salvador “Yurii” Gasco Francesc “donQ” Savall Jon “jonba” Baraiazarra Miguel “exerZ” Marín
Lucas “HITBOX” González-Sabariegos (Coach)
