VCT LCQ: Statistics of the first grand finalists of each region
With four only four spots left at VCT 2023 - Champions, teams in the VCT 2023 - Americas League - Last Chance Qualifier , VCT 2023 - Pacific League - Last Chance Qualifier , and VCT 2023 - EMEA League - Last Chance Qualifier keep on fighting to earn their spot. With Americas and Pacific yet to determine who gets the golden ticket to Champion due to only 1 spot from each, VCT EMEA is a bit more lucky as both teams in the grand finale will head to Champions (this is due to Fnatic winning Masters Tokyo, getting EMEA one more slot).
The following teams have already reached the grand finale:
Giants Gaming have already qualified for Champions having reached the grand finale following a win over KOI in the upper bracket final.
Let's have a look at the players' stats of the qualified teams so far.
KRÜ defy expectations with Keznit's return
KRÜ have been on an absolute roll in the VCT Americas LCQ. Their run started all the way from the depths of the upper round of 16, where they confidently defeated mibr. From then on, KRÜ continued to prove that they are back in shape, defeating FURIA, Leviatán, and finally Cloud9, effectively granting themselves an entry to the Grand Finale of the Americas LCQ.
It's no secret that Angelo "Keznit" Mori is a big part of the reason behind the team's success so far. The team's Raze and Jett main, has so far attained a Rating of 1.37, ACS of 279.8, ADR of 173.1, and a K/D ratio of 1.37. These are massive numbers for any VALORANT player and Keznit's return from Leviatán in late March of this year is finally bearing fruit. The question remains whether Keznit can take the team all the way to Los Angeles for Champions.
ZETA hope to make Japan proud
ZETA Division have had a rather lackluster season with an early exit from VCT Pacific playoffs which resulted on them missing out on Masters Tokyo. However, the Japanese powerhouse is poised to amend its faults as they have booked their spot in the Grand Finale of VCT Pacific LCQ.
ZETA won two matches so far, the first against Rex Regum Qeon, and the second against Team Secret. While the second match was a rather easy 2-0 win for the Japanese side, their first encounter turned into an absolute bloodbath, with the decider's map score being 21-19 for ZETA (Ascent). Yuma "Dep" Hisamoto's performance on the map on Sova saw a world record beaten as he scored 42 kills in a single map, a VCT record to beat.
While TEN's effort was magnificent, it is currently Maruoka "crow" Tomoaki that is leading the team in terms of stats. A Rating of 1.08, paired with ACS of 196.6, ADR of 129.2, and a K/D of 1.03. Still, it is fair to say that ZETA have been a well-oiled machine with everyone doing their part that got them into the final.
Giants are safe, look to be crowned the winners
It is absolutely fair to say that Giants Gaming can now stretch their legs and not worry about anything. The ultimate prize of this LCQ was to receive a ticket to Champions Los Angeles. And that is already done with Giants besting Karmine Corp and KOI, without losing a single map so far in the event. With that goal fulfilled, Giants can now comfortably fight for glory to be crowned the winners of the EMEA LCQ on July 23. Even if they fail, they will have Champions to focus on come August 6.
Still, looking at the players' stats, it is clear that the duo of Aaro "hoody" Peltokangas and Adolfo "Fit1nho" Gallego have led the charge. Playing Controllers and Duelists respectively, the duo both have kept a Rating of over 1.2, with F1tinho also maintaining an ACS of 257 and a spectacular K/D ratio of 1.4. Whatever the outcome of the grand finale, Giants will be cruising to Champions in LA next month.
