Riot Games have announced the VCT 2023 roadmap, including its dates and the Champions 2023 slot distribution. Here is everything you need to know!

This year, Riot Games changed its league system and formed multiple international leagues and decided to hold only on Masters. The 2023 season started in Sao Paulo with the LOCK//IN tournament, and it now continues with international leagues. However, we still have a long road ahead, and all the current details are listed below.

VCT 2023 Roadmap: When is Champions 2023?

Before we get to Champions 2023, a couple of important tournaments must be completed, starting with the International League Playoffs. After that, the second international tournament of the year will take place in Japan, Masters Tokyo. When all the qualifiers are done, this year’s VALORANT Champions will take us to Los Angeles between August 6-26.

International League Playoffs: May 19-28

First things first, we will see which teams will be dominant enough to lift the international league trophies. Pacific League is the first one to start on May 19. EMEA and Americas playoffs will start on May 23. The results are very important as the top teams will also book a plane ticket to Tokyo to compete in VCT 2023 Masters.

Masters Tokyo: June 11-25

Chinese teams, Attacking Soul Esports and EDward Gaming, have already secured their places in Tokyo. However, there are three more major regions, EMEA, Americas, and Pacific, that will compete in the second international tournament this year. The slot distribution for Masters Tokyo is as follows:

  • EMEA: 4 slots
  • Americas: 3 slots
  • Pacific: 3 slots
  • China: 2 slots

Challengers Ascension: June 28-July 16

Just three days after the Masters excitement ends, Challengers Ascension will start. “More than twenty Challengers Leagues have been underway across the world in 2023, narrowing down hundreds of teams to the very best,” said Riot. There will be three Ascension tournaments to decide which teams will be promoted into the international leagues for 2023. Riot will give more information about the Ascension tournaments soon.

Champions CN Qualifiers July 3-16

Now that we have gotten closer to the end of the season, it is time to decide which teams will qualify for VALORANT Champions 2023. China’s Champions representatives will be set after twelve of the best teams compete against each other. The top three teams will fly to LA.

Last Chance Qualifier July 15-23

Just like the previous seasons, Last Chance Qualifiers are the last hopes for teams to qualify for the biggest VALORANT event of the year. “Each of the ILs will qualify a fourth team through the LCQs, except for the region who won Masters who will qualify two teams,” Riot said in the announcement. This puts more value into the Masters Tokyo trophy.

Champions 2023: August 6-26

Finally, it is time for the event that everybody is waiting for. Whatever happens in the season, it happens to qualify for the biggest VALORANT event of the year. It will take place between August 6-26 and will be held in Los Angeles. Below you can see the Champions 2023 slot distribution.
