VALORANT Regional Leagues were one of the highlights of the 2022 VALORANT season as they provided developing teams with an avenue to break into the main scene. Due to the changes introduced to the competitive structure, the Challengers circuit will now replace the VRLs for 2023 with a slightly different format. Following their runner-up placement at VRL Spain, UCAM Esports Club is once again looking to make an impact on their regional scene, though with an entirely fresh lineup.

Each member of the newly-formed roster has demonstrated their talent and knowledge of the game under different banners in the EU scene with Fabian "Quick" Pereira hailing from Giants Gaming, Karel "Flickless" Maeckelbergh and Sammy "iDEX" Van de Weghe from Sector One, Ramses "Famsii" Koivukangas from KOI, and Eloy "YuNo" García Burgueño promoted from the UCAM Academy roster. Their decision to release the initial roster came a few weeks into the off-season and while speculations centered around their departure from the scene were running amok. As we now know, they were in the process of rebuilding.

iDex has assumed the role of a Sentinel for most teams he has played for but has found more success with Killjoy with 0.94 rating on 205 ACS as opposed to 0.82 rating on Chamber. Flickless has been sighted enjoying Jett more often than any other agent and he has seen substantial success with an average 1.40 rating on 290 ACS and 1.46 KDR. Famsii also has a notable record as a Jett main, but his Chamber statistics are also worth noting. To round out this promising roster, both Quick and YuNo have the potential to provide support and anchor the team when needed.

With this announcement, the UCAM VALORANT roster is as follows:

Belgium Sammy "iDEX" Van de Weghe Spain Fabian "Quick" Pereira Spain Eloy "YuNo" García Burgueño Belgium Karel "Flickless" Maeckelbergh Finland Ramses "Famsii" Koivukangas

Spain Mark "aer0z" Ochoa (Head Coach)
