The Guard sign Trent (Habibi)
While other regions have already started their VCT journey, NA is still a week and a half away from its first tournament of the 2022 season. Taking advantage of this added time, several teams are still looking to finalize their rosters and ensure nothing is left unchecked before the VCT season starts. The Guard has now joined the trend by announcing Trent "trent" Cairns as their new player.
The Guard is a Los Angeles-based esports organization with representing teams in Overwatch League & Call of Duty League and in VALORANT since November 2021. Over the last three months, excluding today, they have signed five professional players, a head coach, and a team manager. It is worth mentioning that they have managed to reach the Quarter Finals in NSG 2022 Winter Championship - Fullerton LAN despite being a relatively new roster in the scene.
Before Trent’s (formally known as Habibi) introduction to them, Ha "Sayaplayer" Jung-woo was added to the team in mid-December and his announcement tweet hinted that he would be their final roster change; however, it seems that The Guard wants a formidable, and versatile player on the bench. Trent "trent" Cairns was a part of ex-Flickbaiters roster playing for the team in several regional tournaments throughout the year with no VCT Challengers qualifications to date. He is known for being a Sova main, with experience playing multiple agents including the likes of Astra, Kay/O, Skye, and Killjoy. The Twitter announcement features Sova in the players’ banner suggesting the role he will play for the team.
With this change, The Guard’s roster is as follows:
Jonah "JonahP" Pulice Jacob "valyn" Batio Michael "neT" Bernet Harrison "psalm" Chang Ha "Sayaplayer" Jung-woo Trent "trent" CairnsLatest News
