TenZ to remain a part of Sentinels going into VCT 2023
Sentinels were one of the only five NA teams to earn a spot in the Valorant Partner Program. Following that announcement, they too joined the race of restructuring their roster like many of their counterparts to prepare for the upcoming VCT season.
After quite the roller-coaster ride during VCT 2022, Sentinels had managed to stay within the top 10 teams in NA courtesy of circuit points, which inevitably granted them a final chance at qualifying for a LAN during the recently concluded season. Unfortunately, VCT 2022 - North America Last Chance Qualifier did not come bearing good news for them and their run ended in Lower Bracket round 2 at the hands of 100 Thieves. From being the best Valorant team in the world for multiple stages during VCT 2021 to not qualifying for any international event in 2022, there’s no room for doubt that Sentinels had one of the biggest downfalls and are bound to seek revenge in the upcoming season.
TenZ was an integral part of their 2021 run with his contributions being especially impactful on the offensive front. Despite having a bad season, he was able to finish the season with an average of 1.20 Rating on 251 ACS. There aren’t many in the scene that can rival the skill and talent he possesses. The tweet of this announcement acknowledged this fact and hinted at the organization's motivation to build a roster around him.
Like most teams, Sentinels is taking its time to restructure the roster an therefore have been relatively slow with updates on their roster’s future. At the moment, only the following players have a confirmed spot in the team:
Zachary "zekken" Patrone Tyson "TenZ" NgoDon "SyykoNT" Muir (Head Coach) Adam "kaplan" Kaplan (Strategic Coach)
