Teams revealed for the Pulse Invitational
The T1 x NSG Showdown was the biggest tournament we’ve seen yet in North America, as 16 of the region’s best teams fought it out for a $50,000 USD prize pool. We’ll get to see many of those teams in action again this weekend in what is shaping up to be NA’s next big tournament, the $10,000 Pulse Invitational. Over the last few weeks, the participants have been slowly being revealed, and we now know every team that will be playing.
TSM Immortals Sentinels Cloud9 Gen.G T1 Academy Orbit Charlotte Phoenix Triumph Oxygen Supremacy Lazarus Team Spectral together we are terrific Code7 Way 2 French Echo 8
It will definitely be entertaining to see many tier 1 rosters competing again. TSM will of course be the favourites, but expect Immortals to put up a fight, and Sentinels to show if their improved performance at the T1 x NSG Showdown was a fluke or not. Cloud9 and Gen.G will be looking to improve over their recent disappointing showings, while T1 Academy is an almost complete unknown.
While it will be exciting to see these tier 1 orgs, this is also our first good look at many minor teams. Triumph and Lazarus are rosters I’ve been hoping to see compete for a while, and I think one or both can make it to the bracket stage, depending on group draw. Oxygen Supremacy are fresh off a fantastic performance in Trovo Challenge - North America, and they will be looking to truly see how far they can go. We can’t be sure what to expect from Orbit, Charlotte Phoenix, or Team Spectral, but all have the potential to show up this tournament.
As for amateur rosters, they’re well represented by together we are terrific, Code7, Way 2 French, and Echo 8. Certainly, they have a better chance of success here than in the T1 x NSG Showdown, and perhaps a team like together we are terrific or Code7 can make a deep run.
The Pulse Invitational is shaping up to be a major event in North America’s scene, and is for a great cause in the United Way of New York charity, supporting racial equality and justice. Tune in on twitch.tv/pulseesportsarena this weekend and keep track of THESPIKE.GG for official coverage of the event!
