Team Serenity reveal their VALORANT roster
The North American VALORANT scene is getting one more competitor added to its list with the latest announcement from Team Serenity. The Canadian organization, founded in 2019, is a prominent name in the Fortnite scene and decided to re-enter the VALORANT scene. The organization previously had a team and let them go back in November, with no team representing them since then.
Team Serenity’s newly revealed roster consists of Tyler "sym" Porter, Brock "brawk" Somerhalder, Sean "bang" Bezerra, Tim "root" Dalton, and Justin "Justinovah" Beggs. All of them have been competing in various VALORANT tournaments since August, showing great promise and room for improvement.
sym placed 9th-16th at the Nerd Street Gamers - Monthly September, 5th-8th in the Mount Phenom Zero, and 9th-16th in the First Strike North America UMG Open Qualifier #2 trying to qualify for the First Strike North America Regional Final. He was teammates with bang at Phoenix1 when the latter joined them at the end of August and sym shortly after in mid-October. Together they managed to place 2nd in the Boom Open Weeklies #2 and 5th-8th in the Upsurge Premier League.
As for brawk, he placed 2nd in the Nerd Street Gamers x FaZe Clan Qualifier #2, in addition to 9th-12th finishes in both the FaZe Clan VALORANT Invitational and the Allied Esports Strafe Series #2. The American’s stats speak for themselves, with an average of 195 ACS, 112 ADR, and a 1.02 K/D. His most played agents are Jett, Breach, and Phoenix respectively, bringing a diverse pool to Team Serenity’s potential compositions.
Similar to brawk, both root and Justinovah finished 2nd in the Nerd Street Gamers x FaZe Clan Qualifier #2 as all three of them played together during their time under the name of Lemonade Stand. Justinovah placed 13th-16th in the Pittsburgh Knights Gauntlet - Closed Qualifier, while root performed slightly better than his current teammate to finish 9th-12th in the same event. He got 9th-12th in the PULSE Series as well.
All five of them have previous casual Counter-Strike: Global Offensive experience, with brawk reaching ESEA Rank G during his playing time. Meanwhile, root is a former Fortnite professional player as well, having placed 19th in the Fortnite Champion Series: Season X Heat 3: NA-East and 31st in the Contender Solo Cash Cup: Chapter 2 Season 1 Week 2: NA-East.
