Team Empire kicks off their VALORANT rebuild
One of the most respected and accomplished CIS esports organizations, Team Empire , is stepping down, for now, from the VALORANT competitive scene. They announced their roster’s departure via a blog post, and assured fans this isn’t the end for their participation in the tactical shooter’s competitive scene as they will be on the lookout for players to recruit in 2021.
Team Empire signed their roster back in mid-October, and made changes to the squad’s lineup even before their first official appearance with Vadim "Tian" Filkin leaving the active roster and being replaced by former FishkaVTom player Dmitriy "Edelweiss" Koblov. Unfortunately, they failed to qualify for the First Strike CIS Regional Final, after coming 9th-12th and 17th-32th in the First Strike CIS: Qualifier B and the First Strike CIS: Qualifier A respectively.
Although they managed to turn around their performances and win the recent Snow Cup Final, it still wasn’t enough for Team Empire to stick with the team. Raze and Omen were tied as their roster’s most played agents, with Sova and Cypher equal in 2nd place. The fifth agent was constantly changing within their team’s composition to counter their opposition.
All of Team Empire’s former roster - Dmitriy "Edelweiss" Koblov, David "dips1" Artenyan, Andrew "braveaf" Gorchakov, Seymon "purp0" Borchev, and Artem "DieZzz" Lipatov are now free agents.
