Southern Domination as KRU FEM lock in spot at VCT Game Changers Championship
The VCT GC 2022 - Championship is shaping up to be a colossal affair with seven teams already locked in. The final seed from Latin America was to be decided in a best-of-five match.
A historic day within the women's international competitions due to the consolidation of the first Latin American team to compete in the first Champions in history, it was two squads battling out for regional supremacy. Representing the northern part of LATAM, we have FiRePOWER, while the south would have KRÜ Blaze.
It was complete southern domination from the beginning of the match, with Constanza "conir" Reyes having a stand-out performance on omen on the ascent match. In the second game, inspired by Conir's first game performance, Romina "romi" Álvarez led her team to a (13-4) win in icebox.
The third match on fracture seemed to spark a bit of hope for the Fire Power girls, but it was Conir on chamber and Keila "kalitA" Nava with another stand-out performance that helped to clinch it for the southern team.
The first LATAM women's regional final concludes with a KRU Fem team that convincingly dominated three maps in a row to take the victory. The four-time champions from the south manage to show that they can also overwhelm the north with their strength to obtain the pass to World Cup in Berlin, where they will have to go toe to toe with the best teams to get the world title.
