Although most organizations that were denied entry into the Riot partner program decided to drop their roster hoping to pursue other endeavors, a few notable names in the industry decided to restructure it hoping for a significant Tier 2 scene available for the remainder of the teams. One of these organizations was Soniqs, who have just announced their finalized roster for the upcoming season which includes the addition of Bryce "PureR" Lovell, Michael "nerve" Yerrow, Dylan "runi" Cade.

Soniqs did not have the best start to the year with a bad start to Stage 1 with no qualification spots, followed by a plethora of roster chances leaving the organization with no formidable roster to rely on until the second stage where it seemed like they were finally ready to compete on the big stage. Unfortunately, however, neither qualifier brought good news for them and their chances of playing in a regional VCT tournament, let alone an international LAN were rendered futile.

PureR was a member of Gen. G’s roster throughout 2021 but they bore a fate similar to that of the Soniqs such that they couldn’t manage qualification in either of the two Stages and with Riot partner program decision still pending, they didn’t keep PureR any longer and separated ways in June 2022. Regardless of the results they faced in the VCT, PureR’s delivered on a consistent basis with a 1.12 Rating averaged over six different Agents. It was eminent that he was exerting his best efforts for the team.

Mina on the other hand played for Zero MarksMen Black and then for Cosmic Divide during 2022 after almost a year of inactivity. He has competed over the last year with almost every Agent in the game experimenting with his versatility for the appropriate role on a team, but he has found the most success with Jett, Chamber and Raze averaging 1.08 Rating and 229 ACS. Finally, nerve was Mina’s teammate on Cosmic Divide, being his only major team during the VCT 2022 season. They had varying success in the tier 2 scene but could never make it out of the qualifiers for the VCT main events. He has been spotted playing Viper, Brimstone and Omen averaging 1.11 Rating and 216 ACS.

With this announcement, Soniqs roster will be as follows:

United States William "shonk" Kittrell United States Kevin "mina" Nguyen United States Bryce "PureR" Lovell United States Michael "nerve" Yerrow United States Dylan "runi" Cade

United States Lucas "LRojo" Rojo (Head Coach)
