Sinatraa may return to VALORANT with Marved and zombs for Challengers LCQ
According to streamer Connor "PROD" Moran's tweet, Jay "sinatraa" Won, a former Sentinels player, could join forces with notable VALORANT stars to play again in the VCT Challengers circuit. Joining Sinatraa and PROD are a former Sentinels player Jared "zombs" Gitlin, ex-OpTic Gaming player Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen, and streamer Coby "dizzy" Meadows. PROD stressed that he could take part in future VALORANT competitions.
After nearly two years away, Sinatraa may finally make a comeback to the game at the VALORANT Challengers North America Last Chance Qualifier, which is scheduled to start on January 17.
Why was Sinatraa banned from competing in VALORANT?
After his sexual assault controversy at the start of 2021, the former Sentinels superstar has yet to make his comeback to any competitive video game title. On March 9, his ex-girlfriend Cleo Hernandez, made sexual allegations against Sinatraa. Soon after, Sinatraa's participation in VALORANT competitions was barred by Riot Games for six months.
In April 2022, Sinatraa announced his intention to resume playing professionally via a tweet. However, we have not seen him return to professional play in any competitions thus far. Nevertheless, as far as we are concerned, Sinatraa is cleared to participate in VALORANT competitions since his ban has expired.
North American Challengers teams and qualification
Two teams from the LCQ will receive spots in the North American Challengers, which is due to start in February. The open qualifiers round, which started on January 9, will determine the other four teams. Meanwhile, The Guard, FaZe, M80, TSM, Shopify Rebellion, and G2 Esports are among the notable teams participating in the first Challengers Split as a result of a direct invitation by the tournament's organizers.
