Showtime dropped from eUnited, jmoh joins on trial
Although we only saw eUnited reveal their VALORANT roster a few weeks ago, it didn’t stop the organization from already making changes to the team. eUnited has decided to let go of Antonio "Showtime" Angotti and bring in Jason "jmoh" Mohandessi to replace his spot on the squad. Showtime has only played a few competitive games, at the NSG 2021 Winter Championship and the WSOE Online V WSOE Online V - Qualifier, under the organization’s banner before leaving, which leaves room for speculation regarding the reason for his departure.
Replacing him, though just on a trial basis for now, will be former Immortals Jett/OP jmoh. jmoh helped Immortals to some significant success, including second place at the Renegades x NSG VALORANT Invitational and a First Strike berth, and though often singled out as a weakness on the team, his play drastically improved towards the later end of his time with the organization. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to save his spot, but he gets a second shot at redemption with eUnited.
The biggest obstacle here should be shotcalling issues: Showtime was the team’s IGL, and none of these other players have held that role before. eUnited have promise, no doubt, but this is going to be something they’ll have to figure out on short notice. The first leg of the VALORANT Champions Tour in North America kicks off tomorrow, on January 27th.
eUnited’s roster now is:
Tanner “scourge” Kages Ryan “Eazy” Matthews Joseph “Joseph” Rivera Joseph “Turnup” Sicre Jason “jmoh” Mohandessi (Trial)
Kyle "ToKacey" Stevens (Analyst)
