Sayf and BARBARR officially join Guild
As was previously reported, Guild Esports have announced the signing of Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel from Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Sayf was previously part of Guild, then known as Bonk, throughout the Ignition Series, where they had great success in some of the later tournaments, making two finals appearances, in the Mandatory.GG Cup and the LVL VALORANT Clash 2, though losing both to G2 Esports. After a short, unsuccessful NiP spell, he’s now reunited with his former teammates, as well as William "draken" Sundin.
This follows Filip "goffe" Gauffin's departure the team. Since none of the current Guild players have really stuck with the Sentinel role, it will be interesting to see who takes up the position.
Along with Sayf, Guild have brought in André “BARBARR” Möller as coach. He has been in the Counter-Strike scene since 2006, as both a player and a coach. In Counter-Strike competition, he was quite successful under several different banners, including H2k Gaming, and in Global Offensive, he represented organizations such as Epsilon eSports, Singularity Esports, x6tence, and Wygers, playing all the way up to 2020. He began coaching in 2019, and functioned as a player-coach with Wygers in 2020.
What are your thoughts on the Sayf acquisition? Can he help get Guild back to being one of the best squads in Europe? What will BARBARR bring to the table? Let us know!
Guild Esports are now:
Malkolm “bonkar” Rench Yacine “Yacine” Laghmari Leo “Leo” Jannesson William “draken” Sundin Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel
