RUBINO looks for options away from Team Heretics
Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel is looking for new options away from Team Heretics, he announced on his Twitter.
Heretics were at the top of Europe for a long time. RUBINO joined the team shortly after their First Strike victory, and helped them to even more success, placing 2nd in Stage 1 VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Europe Masters. However, VCT Stage 2 was a struggle for the usually-consistent team. They qualified for VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Europe - Challengers 1, but were beaten in the quarterfinals by Team BDS, and they failed to even qualify for VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Europe - Challengers 2, falling out in the open qualifiers to G2 Esports.
Alongside these more recent struggles, suggestions of roster moves have been swirling around the team. A week and a half ago, it was reported that G2 were interested in acquiring Auni "AvovA" Chahade and Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas. Rumours since have suggested that those deals might be close to finished, and that even more members could end up leaving.
Heretics have not made an announcement on their socials, and all RUBINO's tweet noted is that he's looking for new options. It seems likely he's ended up benched, but the wording leaves room for interpretation. RUBINO began by playing Sova for the team, but has been on Breach and Skye more recently. He has all-time stats of 177 ACS, 1.02 KD, and 112.5 ADR.
Team Heretics’ roster is now:
Melih “pAura” Kaduran Christian “lowel” Garcia Antoran Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas Auni “AvovA” Chahade
Dustyn “niesoW” Durnas (Inactive) Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel (Inactive)
Tanishq “Tanizhq” Sabharwal (Coach)
