Riot Games reveal VALORANT Premier beta details
Riot Games showcased the upcoming path-to-pro mode named VALORANT Premier with a video on YouTube. Apart from its name, the company has also shared the release date. Premier is set to begin during Episode 6 Act 3 to enlighten the way for being a professional VALORANT player.
What is VALORANT Premier?
VALORANT Premier is VALORANT’s team-based competitive system. Players can build their own teams of five and compete against each other against teams with closer skill levels. In other words, it is similar to 5v5 ranked games but with a life-changing prize at the end of the road.
In the video, game director, Andy Ho, gave some insight into VALORANT Premier. Ho said that players will compete in a series of weekly matches. After winning “enough” matches, the qualified teams will compete in a single elimination bracket and challenge each other to be one of the top teams in the skill division. The skill-level measurement is expected to be done according to each player’s ranks, but it is unclear for now.
Leo Faria, Head of VALORANT esports, said: “In the future, Premier will be the path to the VCT Challengers Leagues. No more open qualifiers events. Your path to pro starts in-game, and if you do great, you get a shot at Challengers.” In other words, it will be a great opportunity for those who want to go pro. The path starts at home and could lead to the international stage.
The VALORANT Premier alpha stage was announced before, and players in Brazil had the opportunity to try it out. For the rest, it will be available during Episode 6 Act 3. Until then, you might want to start working on your strategies and compositions to have the upper hand when the time comes!
