Riot Games announces teams and more ahead of the Valorant Game Changers Championship
8 days before the inaugural Valorant Game Changers Championship, Riot Games has announced the teams, schedule, and twitch drops for the upcoming tournament. VCT GC 2022 - Championship, which was previously announced earlier this year, had its teams revealed along with the dates and times of each of their scheduled matches. These teams will be coming together in Berlin, Germany in order to determine winner of the VCT Game Changers 2022 circuit.
Out of the 50 total teams competing this year in Game Changers, 8 teams have been invited to the end of the year event. The teams bringing the firepower to the Valorant Game Changers Championship are:
EMEA -
G2 Gozen Guild XNorth America -
Cloud9 White Shopify Rebellion FemaleBrazil -

X10 SapphireThe best-of-three match format will start the bracket on the 15th of November at 15:00 CET // 6:00 AM PST. This format will continue throughout the entire tournament until it switches to a best-of-five format for the Grand Finals on the 20th of November at 17:00 CET // 8:00 AM PST.
Taking a look at the newly released bracket, the first of the 14 total matches taking place is going to be C9 White against KRU esports. Following that match will be G2 Gozen taking on the only APAC team in the tourney, X10 Sapphire. With the winners of both of those matches facing off for the last match of day one, Guild X vs Shopify Rebellion will kick off day 2 of matches. As the same for day one the winner of that match will face off against the winner of match 2, that being Fennel Hotelava or Team Liquid. Even with a double elimination format, the length of this tournament will warrant an increase in competition for those scarce main bracket spots.
Fans watching this event on Twitch will also be rewarded with exclusive drops to commemorate the occasion. Once fans make sure their Twitch and/or YouTube are linked to their Riot account, if you watch any live game from November 15th-19th, you will receive the ‘Game Changer’ title in game. Along with this title comes a bright gold 2022 Game Changers Championship card that can only be obtained by watching the finals on November 20th.
