Riot Games announce suspension of sinatraa for the first weekend of Stage 1 Masters, TenZ to stand in
Riot Games have announced that Jay “sinatraa” Won has been suspended for at least the first weekend of Masters Stage 1 play in North America.
The announcement comes a day after Won’s ex-girlfriend levelled sexual assault accusations against him in a document posted to Twitter. Sentinels have stated that he is suspended from their roster while they launch an investigation of their own, while Won has since come out to say that he denies the allegations and is fully cooperating with all investigations.
The event is set to begin tomorrow, with Sentinels’ first match being against Luminosity Gaming on March 12th. The first week of play will include the first two rounds of the upper bracket, as well as the first round of the lower bracket. It has been revealed that former Cloud9 star Tyson "TenZ" Ngo will stand in for them, and has in fact been entirely acquired by the Sentinels organization for 30 days to satisfy Riot's Global Competition Policy. TenZ will bring a new look to Sentinels for sure, and while he's undeniably skilled, his inexperience on some of the roles that sinatraa would have played as well as his months out of competition still likely leave Sentinels in a worse position than before.
This post will continue to be updated as new information comes out.
