Report status updates now appear in-game
Sometimes you run into a few toxic VALORANT players, and those who file reports against them were interested in receiving status updates on the actions taken. A few days ago, VALORANT Executive Producer Anna “SuperCakes” Donlon promised it was something already on the development team’s list. Well, the feature is currently live but still in an experimental state.
VALORANT Programmer and Anti-Cheat Lead Paul Chamberlain replied to famous streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins’ tweet notifying players that the feature is already live, however missing a few key messages. He clarified the report status notification will only appear if you are playing VALORANT at the same time the cheater is banned or action taken against him is effective. The message shown doesn’t feature the player’s ID as well, which is something Chamberlain clarified should be included in the message as well.
On the topic of banning cheaters, the Anti-Cheat Police Department revealed over 3700 VALORANT players were detected by Riot Games’ anti-cheat program, Vanguard. As described, Vanguard detects and flags the cheaters’ hardware ID, which makes it exponentially more difficult to bypass the ban than a typical account ban. This shows the studio’s system is working for now, and hopefully will continue to do so to make VALORANT a friendlier place for players to hop on and enjoy.
What do you think of Riot Games’ commitment to making VALORANT a safer place? Do you think the report status messages should show the action taken and how long the player is affected? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below!
