Report: food to be the next member of T1's VALORANT team
The Korean-based organization, T1, is slowly finalizing its competitive VALORANT roster. Yesterday, it was revealed that Danny “fRoD” Montaner will take the position of the Head Coach of the team, meanwhile, the remaining two players who would join the previously announced Braxton “Brax” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Larivière, and Austin “crashies” Roberts are still unknown.
However, according to the report from Dust2.us, Victor “food” Wong, who is known from the CS:GO scene, is set to join the T1’s VALORANT team.
Wong has been playing for organizations such as Singularity and eUnited in the last few years. It was also said his team supposed to play under the wings of the Chinese organization FunPlus Phoenix to compete in the FACEIT League, FLASHPOINT, however, it didn’t happen eventually. Most recently we could see food competing with a squad under the name Swole Patrol, where in the past he was a teammate with Braxton “Brax” Pierce and Danny “fRoD” Montaner who was also coaching that squad.
The report about Wong’s retirement from the competitive CS:GO scene might be true, as Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir, the captain of Swole Patrol, announced on his social media channel, that the team is currently looking for the fifth player.
food has been active on the CS:GO scene from 2015, and knowing for a fact that he is familiar with some of the members of the current T1 roster it’s very likely that he will indeed be the next player to be announced by the organization. T1 so far hasn’t released any comment on this matter.
If the reports are confirmed, the T1 squad will consist of:
Victor “food” Wong Braxton “Brax” Pierce Keven “AZK” Larivière Austin “crashies” Roberts
Danny “fRoD” Montaner (Coach)
