Reita returns to ZETA DIVISION after one year
The Japanese organization ZETA DIVISION has announced via Twitter that Oshiro "Reita" Ryu returned to the starting roster after his one-year tenure at REJECT.
Ryumon "Reita" Ashiro transferred to REJECT after serving in ZETA DIVISION from August to December 2021. During his tenure at the Japanese team, Reito demonstrated himself as the core member of the starting roster, leading his crew throughout the VCT 2022 - Japan - Stage 1 - Challengers Week 1 - Open Qualifier to clinch their tentative spot in the VCT 2022 - Japan - Stage 1 - Challengers Week 1. Having been eliminated from the VCT 2022 - Japan - Stage 2 - Challengers Playoffs by the hands of Crazy Raccoon, REJECT participated in the VCT 2022 - East Asia Last Chance Qualifier, in which they lost to EDward Gaming and KONE in the playoff stage.
ZETA DIVISION, on the other hand, secured their spot in the VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul thanks to the circuit points they have accumulated throughout the year. However, the Japanese powerhouse could not make it out of group B, where they faced off OpTic Gaming, LOUD, and BOOM Esports. Following their disjointed fashion in the decider match against LOUD, ZETA DIVISION were knocked out of the tournament without making qualifying for the playoffs.
It is uncertain if Reita will find a chance to prove himself in the starting lineup. ZETA is one of the 10 partner teams that will compete in the VCT 2023 - Pacific League. The forthcoming season in the Pacific region is scheduled to begin on March 26th, 2023.
With the addition of Reita, ZETA DIVISION's roster for the upcoming season is as follows:
