The Japanese esports organisation NORTHEPTION has announced their newly-formed lineup that includes Kim "Meteor" Tae-O, Cho "JoXJo" Byung-yeon, Xandrite, Kohei "BlackWiz" Mikami, and Tomoki "xnfri " Moriya.

NORTHEPTION has been competing in the Japanese scene since the VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - Japan - Challengers 1 - Open Qualifier. Their first aim was to achieve regional goals before qualifying for the international stage but things didn’t go as planned. Despite reaching the upper bracket semi final in VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Japan - Challengers Finals, they fell short against the regional giants, Crazy Raccoon. Just like the previous one, VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Japan - Challengers Playoffs was another disappointment for the organisation as they ended the season without competing internationally

The roster is composed of two South Koreans and three Japanese players. We have seen many examples of this roster planning, including Crazy Raccoon. Meteor and JoxJo are the Koreans of the newly formed lineup who will be joining from TNL Esports and GOnGO Prince, respectively. JoxJo and xnfri are the leaders of the team in terms of ratings as they are both sitting at the 1.09 mark.

Joining the players will be JUIN who will be operating as their manager.

NORTHEPTION’s VCT 2022 roster consists of:

South Korea Kim "Meteor" Tae-O South Korea Cho "JoXJo" Byung-yeon Japan Xandrite Japan Kohei "BlackWiz" Mikami Japan Tomoki "xnfri " Moriya
