New Japanese organisation, IGZIST, add Lakia to their VALORANT roster
A new organisation, IGZIST, announced it's entrance to the Japanese VALORANT scene on the 9th of December 2021 with the addition of Masayuki "oitaN" Takahashi , Shibasaki "poem" Yumeki, Shoki "Pepper" Banjo and Shuma "RIPablo" Ikeda, all ex-BlackBird Ignis players. After that they also added seventeen year old player, Ask on the 31st of December. Joining this team today will be the highly anticipated ex-Vision Strikers player Kim "Lakia" Jong-min to field a 6-men roster.
While there isn't much to say about the organisation since it's relatively new, there is definitely a lot to say in this surprising move. Lakia has been one of the best South Korean players in 2021 with him playing mainly for NUTURN and then joining Vision Strikers (now DRX VS) after VCT Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik. Finishing 3rd in the same event, the move to Vision Strikers was an exciting one seeing the potential the team had with his addition. Having said that, the player didn't get much play time during his stay. In fact, in his 5 months with Vision Strikers, he only played 9 maps. Throughout his career the player has mainly focused on the initiator role picking up Sova and Skye mostly and sometimes he even played Raze or Breach.
Alongside Lakia, the core roster of the team is composed from 4 players that used to play with BlackBird Ignis in 2021. The last event that we have covered of this team was back in August when they participated in the VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Japan - Challengers Playoffs, which had 2 slots available for Masters Berlin. Unfortunately the team didn't do much as they finished in last place after losing both their matches in the double elimination bracket against FENNEL and FEELING respectively. The best achievement the team ever got in a Riot organised event was a 2nd place back in First Strike in 2020 after losing the Grand Final against ZETA Divison. Back then the team fielded three players of the current roster including poem, RIPablo and oitaN.
With this announcement, IGZIST will now field the following roster:
