Natus Vincere take down Parla Esports to win G-Loot Clash 2022
Nowadays, fans all around the globe have a chance to see their favorite team perform at 2022 off-season events. Recently, EMEA fans had the privilege to watch some of the partnered teams of 2023, Natus Vincere, GIANTX, Team Vitality, BBL Esports, and FUT Esports at VCT 2022 OFF SEASON - G-Loot Clash 2022 - Grand Finals. In the end, Natus Vincere had the best showing as they lifted the event's trophy but none of the other partner teams made it to the grand finals. Interestingly, the Turkish organization Parla Esports had a great run at G-Loot Clash, even forcing a five-map series against Natus Vincere. Here is everything you need to know about the tournament, especially EMEA partners!
Natus Vincere started their run with a 2-0 win over The Barbers. With ec1s, Meddo, Kryptix, polvi, and luckeRRR, The Barbers looked pretty good on paper. The ex-FPX roster with cNed dominated the series though. Secondly, Na’Vi came up against Fire Flux Esports. Wo0t and sociablEE’s efforts weren’t enough for the Turkish team but they still won a map in the end. Na’Vi swept Team Vitality in the semi-finals. Mehmet Yağız "cNed" İpek picked up 50 kills in two maps while holding a 1.49 rating. Lastly, Natus Vincere took down Parla Esports in the grand final to lift the trophy. This time, cNed picked up 107 kills in five maps and had an impressive showing. The ex-FPX roster with the Turkish player looked unstoppable throughout the tournament.
Giants Gaming also had a great start to the event. They dominated the series against Galatasaray Esports, winning Bind with a score of 13-1 and Haven with 13-11. Secondly, the Spanish team swept BBL Esports, another partnered team for VCT 2023 EMEA League. Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas and Kirill "Cloud" Nehozhin had the best performances again. On BBL’s side, we had seen Brave and Elite perform for the first time with their new teammates. BBL looked promising but they still have a long road to go. Giants’ run ended in the semifinals. Parla Esports came out of nowhere and took them down in three maps, 2-1. Emir "rhyme" Muminovic played his heart out, holding a 1.48 rating in three maps on Astra Omen but Parla Esports were the stronger side.
Thirdly, Team Vitality started the event with a win over LANPACAN, the Lithuanian squad. Karel "Twisten" Ašenbrener held a 1.72 rating on Jett and KAY/O, making a great debut under the Vitality jersey. Vitality then took down KPI Gaming again with Twisten’s great effort. However, the streak ended as they matched with Natus Vincere in the semifinals.
Lastly, the second partnered Turkish team of the tournament, FUT Esports bid farewell to the event in the first round. The Turkish squad failed to win its first match against Divinity and their run ended earlier than expected.
