mwzera joins Furia
Having the end of the 2022 VCT season in the rear view mirror and with the offseason downtime in full effect comes the inevitable roster changes. Our most recent roster announcement came out of the corner of FURIA. Joining their roster for the 2023 VCT season is going to be Leonardo "mwzera" Serrati.
Seratti joining the likes of Furia may not be that much of a surprise to some as both player and org reside in Brazil. Furthermore, Seratti has faced off against Furia many times since first starting his professional career in Valorant. Competing in tournaments just one month after the initial games release back in June of 2020. Starting out on Gamelanders Blue before joining up with Vivo Keyd Stars in February of 2022, the initiator/duelist player has proven to be quite a formidable foe to come across. Averaging a 1.33 K/D and a 276.2 ACS across all of his tournaments played, one can theorize that Furia might have had their eye on him for quite some time.
While Furia might have lost a few of the encounters when going against either of the teams Seratti has previously been on, overall their team had been producing better results compared to the aforementioned teams. However, even though they won the VCT 2021 - South America Last Chance Qualifier and placed second in the VCT 2022 - South America Last Chance Qualifier to qualify it to both of the end of the year VCT tournaments, they fell short of making an impact on the international stage both times. This newest addition to their roster might potentially be what they need to break out from the middle of the pack. Only time will tell if Seratti can be the player to usher Furia into the limelight.
